So is this car a SFI 25-5 car or not? (would be an awful lot of work since Indy)

Don't know how the record could stand if it isn't.

Seems as though somebody really dropped the ball with these cars from the start....

Ford for knowingly sending them out with 1000+ HP and not sufficient chassis and NHRA for grossly underestimating the HP and thus their capabilities.

And all this in conditions that appear not much different than Indy.......wait 'till they get to good air.

I just noticed the pics of his car...are those nine or ten in tires on the back?

This is obscene! Going faster than a SS/AH CAR? ON A LIGHT LAUNCH? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Respecting the fact that you are chassis builder, I can see the SFI cage issue, but not having sufficient chassis, I have to disagree. There are lots of Mustangs running in the NMRA and NMCA classes in the 7's with small tires and the same type of suspension.

Now this is a strech NHRA doe's not make chassis rules, they pass all the blame to SFI and when you read the rule book it say's must meet SFI Spec so & so (wheels. chassis, belts' firesuits' helments and on and on). What NMRA & NMCA doe's doesn't have any impact on what NHRA doe's or has to meet. Yuall complained when IMPACT and SFI had their Tuff several months ago? but in the end SFI won. This will be what happens with NHRA, SFI will have finally say so!!! Don't forget that NHRA CANNOT afford to get on bad side of SFI as they also set the standards for Funny Car, Top Fuel, Pro Stock and all classes. Just what would happen if SFI pulls all NHRA cert's no body could race as NHRA could get Insurance to put on the meets.

First, SSDIV6, the specs called for are called SFI 25-5 chassis specs. Look it up.

Secondly, the pics and a record statement are on Drag Race Central at 8.47 and definately no Funny Car cage so DEFINATELY no 25-5 spec chassis tag.

Don't know why we have rules if NHRA doesn't take action on this.

I think Hopkins has it "in" for the Hemi boys. Only 331 cubic inches.

Would you feel the same if the badging on the grill or fenderwell was GM, or Chevrolet
