I've been under the impression that you can eliminate the damper on applications that originally can with them. Am I wrong about that?

Before the new rule, you could be DQ'd for removing the damper, as the rule required the valve spring to be the same configuration as that listed in the blueprint specifications. So if you had an engine that required a 1.55" dual spring with damper, and you took the damper out, the spring configuration no longer matched the the blueprint specification. A tech man that was so inclined could DQ you.

little easier for me, unfortunatley i (woody) just redid my heads...
but now can get rid of pile of shims and get behive springs...

wont make any HP difference, my SMALL CARB & INTAKE are my RPM limiter not the springs

and no they wont let me run the cheater 459 intake ?
