My first encounter with Ronnie was at the Denver National in 2008, and he scared the crap out of me. But after getting to know him, you could not find a better man.

We share a small bond, because he owned my car at one time. Ronnie would always ride my *** because I was at the racetrack instead of being with my family. It really made you think about priorities in your life.

Like others have said, Mr. Ronnie is a way different guy than what he appears to be on the surface, and I know this from both stories and personal experience. Praying for a miracle.....

When Ronnie bought State Capitol Raceway, he tried running it with a State Trooper mentality (my way or the highway) but I saw the other side of him soon. At the first points race there a racer had a fatal heart attack. He went to the racer's wife and returned the entry fee and gave her another thousand dollars to help her out. That is just one of the many stories.

My prayers are with him and his family.

I spoke with Ronnie about a week before Thanksgiving and although he was not feeeling great, he was upbeat and talking about getting that "Bad ***" Hemi ready for the 2011 racing season!

Ronnie is a true "Class Racer" and a gentleman. We have a special bond being both racers and retired troopers. I will say a prayer for my friend and his family.

At Denver this past summer, Ronnie was giving Larry a hard way to go (like he always does). A spectator overheard the conversation and was questioning it. Larry said "Oh, we have a Love-Hate relationship". Then Ronnie said "No it's a Hate-Hate" relationship. Then he took us out to lunch! Ronnie and Sarah are very nice people. We even got to meet their daughter and 2 grandsons this summer.

Hopefully all these prayers will bring about a miracle and we will have him around a while longer.
