Here's a little article you guys should read.

We would love to have you, sorry if some of you guys/gals aren't in our markets but we're trying to get to you, promise

Cool!! They should set up a west coast headquarters in SoCal, maybe in Glendora. Buy a piece of dirt down the street, maybe in Pomona and build a dragstrip.

It's too bad IHRA doesn't have the financial means to pull a bunch of major tracks away from NHRA and give them real compitition.More now than ever NHRA will never be riper for plucking than they are now.
Someone mentioned that the addition of the two new board members are versed in the field of real estate and that possibly Compton is trying to deal the organization.Maybe someone with vision will buy it and breathe life back into it.

Maybe then I could afford to get my engine puffed up for next year. It's sitting in the garage in the dark, like a mushroom.

Every time I see pictures form the national event sportsmen pits it looks like a huge motorhome convention. I am sure that NHRA sees that and the people lining up to buy $100,000 stockers and figure the racers can afford a increase. Besides I would bet they have no problem filling the feild.

Sorry for all you working stiffs that try racing with NHRA.

I, as most of you, have seen these little economical enhancements over the years and remember when the insurance sur charge was initiated. Being that I realized that I was not going to change this new procedure, I had to take a different approach to the situation.

I always viewed the insurance sur charge in a different light. I took it as an "entertainment fee". You know those times when you see odd situations occuring and the results that come from them. Below are some examples that I have witnessed, and are qualified for an entertainment fee. Not in any particular order.

It's been raining for a couple of days prior to the Gators, it's Thursday, we are sitting in our lounge chairs in the sportsman private pits (boondocks next to the creek) and here comes a stacker getting ready to pull in to prime real estate. Needless to say, it got to be entertaining, well worth the two hour scenario.

Gators, different year. These two hot babes in bikinis are standing in the back of a golf cart going down the return road. Several males are observing the situation, which resulted in multiple collisions with other golf carts and people.

A well known racer standing on the starting line, in sneakers, doing a burnout for at least 15 feet, at 11:00 PM in Belle Rose for the Innagural Sportsnationals.

Walking up to the party at several trailers about 1:00 AM on a Friday night and seeing arm wrestling contestants competing. When all of a sudden this four wheeler comes sliding up to a halt, throwing his passenger riding the handlebars across the rock and dirt road.

Watching the tech guys going round and round with an infraction with a totally new participant.

Seeing some stupid thing that is about to happen to someone who is not paying attention.

Watching this guy trying to light a BBQ in the 20 mph wind.

Two Super Gassers about to back into each other at 7:00 AM

The looks on peoples faces as they try to correct the scales.

Reactions from racers in the pits after a win or a loss.

The sweet smell of an overflowing septic system from someones motorhome.

The list could go on and on, but hey, that's entertainment, and there must be a fee for such nonsense.

Ron Ortiz
U/SA these fees are hurting my butt.
