Some interesting statements made in this thread. Not debating what has been stated by Techwest Racing Services or anyone else, just thought I'd share my experience as a long time user of a 6AL box and blaster II coil.
Bought my first and only 6AL box in 1992, mounted it on the firewall above the heater core box where it stayed until it was removed in mid 2007 to "upgrade" to a Digital 6 Plus. ![]() ![]() Logged over 100,000 miles on that box and over 4000 passes without issue, without loss of performance, without loss of consistency or failure along with the Blaster 2 coil that was mounted on the intake manifold using the factory coil bracket that too never failed though I did swap it 2 times just because, over this 15 year period. Sold the 6AL box and Blaster II coil 4 years ago and both are still in service. BTW, the "upgrade" to the Digital 6 Plus box was worth exactly NOTHING on the time slip. BTW 2, I did have a 6 year old Digital 7, 7530 fail in 2010 that is not serviceable as well I had issue with my less than 3 year old MSD 85551 distributor breaking a paddle off the reluctor causing an intermittent miss. ![]() Last edited by 1320racer; 03-03-2012 at 03:55 PM. |
