I'm sure everyone has done it, at least once.
Sneaking your mother or father's car out to the track, for a little 'accelerated performance test'... ![]() In 1975, my father gave in and bought my mother a new 'luxury car' instead of a 'performance car',,,,,,a 1975 Chrysler Cordoba. A maroon-colored, 'Crown Edition', with a maroon-colored padded Landau vinyl-roof. Even maroon 'semi-crushed velvet interior'. My father skipped on the 'fine Corinthian leather' interior package. Looked like a 'semi pimp mobile'. Equipped, with a 'semi-rare', 400/235 HP 4-barrel (option), with dual-exhaust and with a 3.23 Sure-Grip Posi rear. Well, it was taken (without approval) to the drag strip,,,,,, No class, just Bracket-racing in 1975.,,,,, We hit 16.60's with it,,,,,,,a 'one-time event',,,,,,,, |

Tidbit of Chrysler trivia, if you look into the history of the Lean-Burn system you'll find that it was built for Chrysler by a little company that became MSD.

Dennis,
Just me and my friend,,,,,,,,no family members,,,,,, The only thing I had to do at the track, just pop-off the custom-deluxe wheel covers, and remove the air-cleaner top. Don't think the H78 x 15's spun at all, when I left the line. Can't remember if it was a 'Lean-Burn',,,,,,,,??? |
