Chris,
I did notice the 68 Barracuda and I am not familiar with it - sure would like to see some additional pics. Attached are some pics that I believe are the same car. The first is when Reid Whisnant raced the car - I think that Reid painted the car gold (that was his color from then on) - If I remember correctly, he traded the car to Glen Warfel (G&D Musclecar - Orange Park, FL) I am not sure if the second pic is when Glen owned it as it looks like a different name on the door - but note the decals in the rear windows - most appear to be the same - might have changed oil brand. I am not sure if Reid bought this car new or not. The Holton Dodge might be misleading. Often the selling dealer would sponsor a car for one year (the car's model year and another would sponsor after that. Check to see if Holton Dodge received a car - if they did - might not be the car - if they didn't there is a good chance that it is. You might want to check with Reid's son - he might be able to point you in the right direction as well. Mark J |

Here is the second pic. I had to crop this quite a bit in order to get it to load - I have a bigger pic if you need it

Both "smokin joe" and those wo23s have no side trim. Interesting..... I had to provide proof of ownership for ChryslerHistorical to release the dealer info on my car Is there a way to get a list of which dealers got cars? Even without vins, it would be help out alot. Looks like I have some great leads. thank you very much! |

Charlie,
That picture really makes me think we might be onto something - with the 5-slot mags. Not unusual in those days to rub out the current owners lettering and put your own on. Chris, I thought that the guy in FL (can't remember his name right now) put together books on the max wedge and 64-5 hemi S/S cars - all info from Chrysler - vin, color, dealer delivery, ect... I thought that he was going to do the 67 cars as well - I will try to get his name. One question - might have already mentioned - is your car a stick or auto? Mark J 68 Hemi S/S Registry |
