Yep...there is the problem Myron...No wheelie bars in Stock. there is no chance I'll run my car without them! after we almost tipped over backwards at Houston in 2000 Nhra wisely allowed wheelie bars the following season.
Personally I don't care what they do. Either allow Camaro's etc in NSS Or allow wheelie bars in Stock. Either way the problem is solved...

NMCA is asking for suggestions. Naturally, some compromises would need to be made and there will always be people who are not happy.(Just like NHRA.) But a quantity of racers writing in with quality reasoning/suggestions can't hurt. Address their issues as well as yours. Perhaps they would be more receptive to reason than NHRA.

Also, NMC does not allow any engine unless it is a V-8. That's the reason my Bird cannot run NMC.

I ran with NMCA years ago in the EFI classes and had a blast. I'm thinking I will run a few races in 2017 with the El Camino in the Nostalgia Muscle Car class...should be fun.

I just emailed my friend Steve Baur the editor of Fastest Street Car Magazine the official magazine for NMCA telling him you are wanting wheelie bars for safety and he said he would bring it up.

I thought they ran one at Quaker City Raceway, but I looked it up and it was NSCA, 2005.

Steve Baur's response to wheelie bars
I passed your suggestion on. Unofficially, the fact that we have cars running 210 mph to the eighth without wheelie bars doesn’t bode well for the change.

How about just adding a STK/SS combo race class at 3-4 NMCA events to see if there's the car count to add a class for 2018.

IMO, If NMCA wants to increase car count and bring in NHRA/IHRA class cars, the rules need to be so that there is complete cross over. I do not see any class racers readjusting their cars to run the NMCA.
