I get so tired of hearing class cars are JUST shoe polish bracket cars, and yes there are heads up runs and class legalities and teardown possibilities, BUT one thing never discussed is the real fear of engine-transmission failures....most bracket racers build for consistency and brag about how many runs they get before freshening up, make a run or two and bar-b-que....some class racers build on the safe side, some are on the ragged edge each run as a component of Performance Class Racing.
Many class racers if not all, carry gaskets, tools and RTV, let alone a spare trans and many an extra head...we don't usually do 2 & Q, too busy running valves: A BIG DIFFERENCE Two big sources of anxiety, esp at INDY, teardown and will my on-the-edge, no oil bullet survive heads up class |

I have voiced my opinion with NHRA about the JEGS allstars being at Indy. I personally am not a fan. Indy is such a special event in its own right that it seems that the allstars loses some of its luster. When the event has been held at Chicago in the past, "ALLSTAR SATURDAY" was a real thing. Everyone at the facility knew exactly what a moment that day was. At Indy, the event loses its magnitude due to Indy being Indy.
That being said....JEGS is based in D3 land, therefore it would make sense that the event be held in D3 land. That leaves 3 options: Norwalk (JEGS event at Summit Equipment Raceway, not happening), St.Louis or Indy. Pretty easy decision to why it has ended up at Indy. We should also keep in mind that the Allstars has only been held in Indy the last 2 years (2020 - 2021) during very compromised schedules at Indy. I am hopeful that extending the schedule back to Wednesday through Monday that Indy can feel more like Indy. I am hopeful that the Indy schedule (20 lbs of S*** in a 10 lb bag) can end up something like this: Wednesday - Qualifying Thursday - Stock Class Friday - Super Stock Class, Stock Tear down Saturday - Allstars, SS Tear down Thats an ideal schedule, but we all know that would always be "subject to change".

Why couldn’t the All Stars be held at the fall Charlotte or even fall Vegas race? They get tow money anyway and either would be a venue fitting such a prestigious event.

All these negative vibes with the Jeg's All Stars, I wouldn't be surprised if they just cut it out of the budget if they read this website.

Not only is the Jegs Allstars NOT just another bracket race it is THE RACE of the season. It's the hardest race to get into and the toughest R1 race you will ever have as you desperately try and turn on the lamp! You wanna win for you, your crew, and most important you wanna win for your team! Sportsman Racers who wish they were in it, line the fence to watch this race like no other and the Jegs folks treat you like you are the show.
Thank You JEGS for continuing to support the Premier Sportsman Event of the season. No matter where it is hosted, I'd love nothing more than to be in it once again someday! Troy Galbraith Comp 3506 |

Its just another shoot out bracket race. Now if there was no breakout like the the old days that would be cool! In fact instead when they're pairing cars in class that are singles, up in class they oughta run that race without a Breakout also! They've just taken all the excitement out of class racing! it's run you what you brung and hope you brung enough.! If you're slow yourA$$ goes home !!

Doesn't look that popular to me.The classes with the largest car counts are not heads up/no breakout. https://www.nmcadigital.com/blog/qua...by-fuelab/1824 |
