Smokey,
For someone that claims to know so much I'm surprised that you didn't look at the qualifying sheets when you were at Rusk. So YOU and the rest of this board can see you are uninformed & wrong about not seeing me at Rusk try (cut & paste) this link.
http://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCSt...r2006#indextop
I don't mean to be one to toot my horn, but I also reset that NHRA National Record at that D-4 event, Under adverse conditions! I suffered 2 broken ribs in a fall while unloading my car at that event.
By your tone I have obviously written something you took as an insult. I ask you to re read that post & be open-minded. You see I pointed my finger at myself as well as all the other loyal NHRA Sportsmen racers. I'm sorry if you (or anyone else) took what ever you read as an insult. I could take the things you are saying about me as an insult, but you have the right to say what you want. I am just going to consider you as un-informed and forgive you for making those comments. I welcome a personal visit from you at any time. Maybe you could reconsider your opinion of me.
My posts on here are not intended to cause any hard feelings. I am not trying to be a problem for Len, NHRA or anyone. I agree, my 2 posts Sat night were a little terse & not my usual self. I have re read my posts several times & I'm not going to make any excuses, Like too much dinner wine. I intended my posts to be constructive & get racers motivated to express what should be improved for sportsmen racers while all this change is taking place. It looks like there have been some very good posts about improvements. In closing I will say I've already said too much & I will not be making posts on this forum or any other when I can't articulate correctly.
Just remember Len is the sportsmen racers friend. At this moment in time "Len can do more to shape the future of Sportsman racing than anyone else."

...and oh by the way... Sportsman racers all dare have opinions, regardless of whether or not they set records, qualify number one, win races, or even win rounds. There are far more racers who don't have these 'accomplishments' on their resumes than do -- but they ALL make up sportsman racing.

Where do you fit in? Thank you Mr. Beard. Ifit into the " far more who don't have 'accomplishments' , However the passion for Stock/ Super Stock racing has been in my soul since 1959. I am GONNA Race, how where , when is the question. [Where is "Big Willie" when you need him, lol ]

I thought Adger ran one of those "comp elmiinator" combos in SS. See why he was #1 qualifier.

Oh! You're right, let's keep talking about Adger instead of the future of NHRA. Glad y'all got your priorities straight.

In my opinion - lower entry fees (i.e., discard insurance surcharge, oildown fines), lower ticket prices at LODRS events to make it affordable for familes and MARKET the whole package (as some tracks have already done with success)

You are so right about that Mr Beard, but it'll never happen. They will never lower any cost to th racer. They have more than enough and wanna weed out us poor folk... Funny even with my good job for the past year and a half, I'm still poor... Whats up with that George W? Jennifer Granholm?

Easy there Smokey...jeez, I can't hardly stand it when a MAN? makes a statement but isn't capable of signing his John Henry to it. It certainly makes me question his integrity. Maybe it's just my redneck Texas raising but I was taught if you make a stand you had better be able to sign your name to it. When you shake a person's hand you must look him or her in the eye and it must be firm. What happened to that quality of thinking??
You know Smokey I'm simply a racer's girlfriend who doesn't know beans about racing but I do know Adger and quite simply if he wasn't sooooo busy working on other racers' engines and such he would probably have time to go down the track. Adger does work on Kevin's engines and I think Kevin's wins are contributed by the work that Adger does. So, the next time you want to hide behind those "smokey glasses" do your homework on the man you're insulting. Adger is a good friend to Kevin and I so I felt the need to throw in my two cents for whatever it's worth.

Now, have a nice day "gents" and for God's sake get back to the issue at hand. I have learned one or two things about racing from the forum but the one bad thing about this forum is some of you don't play fair and it seems to be the ones who won't sign his/her real name.

Sincerely,
Sherrie Maloney

Adger, my apologies to you. I stand corrected on your current racing status. I thought you were a division 5 racer and didn't see your name at any of their events and I did not notice you at Rusk.
While I may not agree with Adger's negative comments about his fellow NHRA racers, at least he is one.
You, Michael Beard, on the other hand are a sand lot racer (read ihra).
If you do not race NHRA, your opinions on what the NHRA should do are meaningless. Your opinions need to be directed towards your pals at IHRA which have done NOTHING and will do nothing for sportsman racing since Mr. Bader jumped ship. Go ask the alcohol funny car racers how they got hosed by your IHRA punk sanctioning body this year. IHRA's focus....night of fire jets and circus side show ****. Funny how you never find fault with the IHRA which has only managed to shrink sportsman racing. By the way....how exactly was IHRA sportsman racing "enhanced" when its entire operation was sold to clear channel? You need to worry about the punk sanctioning body you race with before you bitch about the NHRA.
Ms. Maloney, my anonymity is my privilege as accepted by the rules of this website. Your "red neck" raising, as you say, and your way of thinking are your privilege and have no bearing on anything beyond your own personal opinion.

You're absoluted correct Mr. Smokey my post was exactly that...my personal opinion but you don't see me having to apologize for insulting a racer without doing my homework first. Your post was just like mine...a personal opinion that I found insulting and wrong concerning a friend so I called you on it! You're also correct when you stated that your anonymity is accepted by this website but that doesn't mean it's accepted by the majority on here. I was taught that the most valuable thing a person has is his or her name and once it's tarnished there's absolutely nothing you can do.

I will continue to stand up for the racers I personally know when a "no namer" tarnishes another racer's name. I read where your employment is motorsports marketing and if that is true then you of all people know the aggravation and damage that can be done by writing or speaking the ill truth of someone else. By the way, I am curious what kind of person would be more proud of the work he or her is involved in than his or her own name. Personally, (and yes, it is just my personal opinion and therefore I will not charge you a fee for it) I'm more likely to be prouder of my name than my flight attendant career.

Have a good day!
Sherrie
