First round of class for stock is done. I had to run Grace Howell. I ask Grace if we could run each other first, there was 4 AA cars. I wanted to get it out of the way. Grace said okay and off we went. To add insult to injury Grace strap an .012 on me to my .049. Grace went 9.706 to my 9.808. I was hoping to run a mid 70, but that's all I had. Grace went 129, she killed about 9 mph. I'm figuring she was on a 9.65 run.

Well so goes my class race, time to get ready for the eliminator. I wish I could give you more info, but running class keeps you busy. Since I am out I will watch the second round of class. They should be out soon.

There was some sprinkles and we were on hold, but we are back to racing. Stock should be out soon.

I believe that makes you a "Grace-ful" runner-up Ken!

Nice to have met some of the sportsman racers of which I have taken pictures. I got a few email addresses to send them some from this week-end. I will be in and about the sportsman pits tomorrow. I will be wearing a Go to Hell hat with an NHRA logo on the front and carrying a blue back pack if anyone else would like pictures. Have a good nite.

I have tons of pictures so I will add them in a few posts. Below are some from the morning qualifying and class.

I will try to keep the rap up of today's racing brief. I got to watch second round of class, but first I want to start with the early qualifying runs. It was cool to talk to everybody in the staging lanes and see the cars I don't see in my division. I met lots of members of Class Racer, fans and racers, along with guys that are building cars for stock.

Lots of racers were shutting off in qualifying which is understandable. The thing I noticed more than ever before, cars are shutting off early during class. I try to stay up beat, but it makes it less enjoyable to watch. I understand why they do, but its boring. I choose AA so I don't have to shut off early, its a steep index so its hard to get hp.

The second round of class was most of what I said, shutting off early. Some of these cars are going to get hp because they went to fast early in the day, so why they are shutting off now. I'm not in the position to get hp so I am not judging their decision, I just would like to understand why. I think there was two races that the drivers ran it out.

I note on Bill Hawk's run. The traction bar broke and pushed Bill over the center-line. His car came up high and there was no way to save the run.

I have to say even with some of the not so fun to watch stock class runs, it is still fun to be here. The race track is first class. The track is amazingly fast even when the numbers do not show it. When I ran first round of class. the bar was 29.19 with a temp of 75 and the humidity 32% the da was 2404 ft. I have never been to a track with those kind of numbers and ran this quick.

I know some may wonder why I not bummed being beat by the new CJ's.
I don't have problem with it because and know this can happen, it happened in the past and its going to happen in the future. I had a good combo but now its just okay, and I'm okay with that.

Grace and Bill are good friends and I hope they do well with their new CJ.

Well folks that's its until tomorrow, we are out third for first round of eliminations, the only one for the day. I will try make the posts shorter and maybe have some more pictures.

Dave, very funny.
