If only we could get everyone to do that.. it would rock the hell out of them. Someone upload a virus to the registration site so no one can get on

This is very simple. If you are in this for the $$$$$$$$$$$$ You need to rethink this issue. I am not talking about the PRO Sportsman Racers [ you know who they are] I have no problem with them. They make a living racing. Hell I would love to but reality is that not happening. As they say in business it the "Cost of doing business". NHRA is providing a place to race either you want to race with them or you don't. 75 to 80% of "US" do not race to make a "PROFIT"[because we know we can't]. Yes it is nice to win some $$$$$$$$$$$ but most don't but we "BITCH" about it.. Why ??? We race for the fun and fellowship. Yes it's cost to have fun but what doesn't???????
IHRA also gives us places to race and they LOVE us to come and they say "THANKS". I have also been to NHRA tracks that tell you "THANKS" for coming. Ex. No Problem Race Track and Thunder Valley in Noble, OK. [may I throw in Div. 4] Thanks race track owners.

Do I like paying more $$$$$$$$$ no but It is what it is.. In case people don't know me. I carry 2 cars everywhere I go. Do I think I can double up??? Who know but what the hell I will pay my $$$$$ and try. The closes I came was "2" runner up's at an IHRA track. I had a blast.

Quit bitching about what racing cost and think about life. If you can't afford to go racing then don't. Life is short in each and everyone of us.

1st time down race track 1966 "OLD GATOR" in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Lfe is "SHORT" quit bitching

Please keep Ronnie and Sarah West in your prayers, Ronnie is fighting a life battle. I am glad that myself and my daughter met Ronnie and Sarah. Please keep them in your prayers

Does the same argument hold true if they make it $350? $400? How about $500? Can't put a price on a good time, right?

I didn't think the country club was Wally's dream.

If you go out to eat, you have a choice A regular steak house or a Great steak house.

Ex: My town Outback $ 60.00 My favorite steak house 2 Johns $ 112.00 It All about what makes you feel Good and at the end of the day You are "HAPPY"..

Don't like what NHRA does then go IHRA Racing. Hell my old home track has a race in 2011. I might just feed the racers again.

All in all MERRY CHRISTMAS

Most can only afford ONE race car and the costs that go with one. Its coming down to the "Haves" and the "Have Nots". It used to be that stock eliminator was a place someone with talent and a small budget could race National events, and run for a championship, and have a chance at being a champion. Now you need $100,000 plus new under rated cars cars, stacker trailers, and the ever larger motor homes plus a business that runs itself while your away for a week just to run a points race. Where is the line drawn for the little guy. Staying home and bracket racing just dosent cut it for most on this board. This is not to cut down those who have the money to do this crazy sport in a down turned economy. But where does it leave the loyal dedicated racers who are not well funded and just get by ? Some say $95 more is no big deal for a fun weekend with their buddies but is it really FUN to give your money away to an association that dosent give a rats azz about the lowly sportsman racer?

I think it all comes down to value, and that's different in everyone's eyes. Value could be the payout plus contingency, it could be fun with friends, it could be which race is closer.

But to expand on bobby's steak house analogy, what if the $120 steak house made you sit in the broom closet to eat and pay more for the privilege of doing while the customers who are the owners "friends" (you know the influential people, and the people who bring 20 peaple with them for a big party) sit in the main dining room and don't have to pay for their steaks. Not to mention you're told when you can come eat there and if they run short of ingredients, you don't get any.

I don't think NHRA "OWES" me anything. They provide a first class venue to race at and thats where I want to be. If the price for that gets out of line with the benefits it provides then I can always go to Disney Land (I bet thats cheaper now).

Mr. Beard since I am reassessing my 2011 plans, I notice that Rockingham is not on the National event list, would you know where the TOC race will be run for those fortunate enough to qualify? Also do you make a calender of Good footbrake events? Please PM me.
