I agree with Bryan there were too many racers that wern't at the race that are on this site crying about NHRA and saying we need an alternative. You had a chance and didn't show up , shame on you!

We had a great time putting this on. Unfortunately this was the last one that Brian and I will have time for. It is tough to travel these days for races, and I'm not upset with anyone from the northeast not coming down. There are many races that are back to back and you do need to make decisions on where and when to race. The problem I have is there were over 80 people saying they would attend if the weather was nice. We had 40 for the combo on Saturday. That said everyone that was there seemed to have a great time at thats all that really matters.
Adam, I was at Epping last year, wasn't there long. It was one race I was glad to loose first round with all the heat there. Unfortunately I will not attend Lebanon or Epping this year, like it was said before you need to pick and choose and I would rather go to Bristol for the National and spend nothing for Tolls than travel up north. Costs me **70 in tolls just to get to Atco from Baltimore which is bad enough. Someday a race will be put together to fit everyone's schedule, price range, fun level, etc,,, lol We do want to thank everyone that was there in the S/SS and the .90 Nationals and I apologize for the oil down in the quarter final. I gave myself an oil down penalty for that also!!! There may still be a combo event at Numidia next year. Looking for someone to take over the Combo in the Hills for us. Hope everyone has a great second half to the season. Lee |

I bet if they have the 10 grander at Napierville the weekend before the Epping National next year (hint hint div 1) you'll have an excellent car count at both. |

And another thing,,,,,,like Lee Valentine said if you can't or won't support racing that takes all the annoying attributes of an NHRA racing experience away, long wait to get in, AHFS, etc, you should not cry about them on this forum! My OPINION!

First off I want to say Thank You to Brian, Lee & the whole Numidia Staff for all the help over the weekend at the 90 Nationals & Combo in the Hills event. Lee & Brian really did help out with the .90 event because it seemed that I would be there for an hour with no entries and run to the bathroom and 10 people would show up to sign up and Lee & Brian would help out...lol. Also a BIG THANK YOU to Dave Ley & Curt LaShure who did tech for all the cars before going to Maple Grove for the Mopar Race.
I mean it's nobody's fault as to why you didn't show up or support this event. When I approached Lee in December about piggy backing onto my event Lee was on the fence but, I was able to twist his arm. I had the date already set-up all we had to do was wait. Unfortunately Maple Grove added the 50th Anniversary Stk/SS Series and the Mopars at the Grove was also added on this weekend.....which is beyond our control. For a 40 car field it was still a nice payout and some darn good racing! Yes Angelo's & Worner's burn-outs across the starting line in the finals of Friday Nights CIC race was great and had us all smiling and laughing on the line (Isn't that what it's all about.....HAVING FUN?). I mean I did speak with Lee & Brian a little bit on Thursday Night when Lee was giving us the astronomy lesson on the stars about possibly taking over the Combo in the Hills event. I personally have cut back my time inside the racecar because I enjoy putting together these events. I maybe a .90 racer but, I have a lot of good friends in the stock/super stock classes and I made a few more this weekend. I will do everything in my power to continue this event and keep Brian & Lee's hard work on the Combo in the Hills going! Thanks once again to everyone who attended this event....hopefully you will hear something in the future. |

A big thanks to Lee and Brian for once again having me back to announce the race. Having Rob Keister and the .90 Nationals cars running with with Combo in the Hills stock /super stockers was a great fit, great racing in all the classes. Got to see many old friends and met many new ones too. The DiMino family and the track staff did an outstanding job all weekend long. Josh and Johnny B, the tower staff, were very good to work with, they made my job easy. The whole event was first class. And yes, a few people took me up on the offer to visit with us in tower, maybe next year more will do so. If I'm wanted back in 2013, count me in! Good luck to all in your racing efforts for the rest of the year!

I told Lee back around Feb that I would be there and have
been very excited about it, but as always, I can't get a break. Long story short, a neighbor that thought I disurbed the roots on her tree when I had the paving company do my small parking lot by my garage vowed revenge and three days later the town gave me till the end of June to replace the roof on my house or I would be fined 300 a day for every day it wasn't done, all over a few loose shingles. I had just laid out 7K for the paving in front and rear of the house plus put a 2K deposit on some parts for my Challenger and the roof being done by a friend at a great price will be 5K to be paid the last Friday of June. I said, hey I can still go, I'll just skip the new convertor, ramps and tires for the trailer. A few weeks ago my no.2 employee told me that he had to leave at noon on 6-8 for personal reasons and had an unplanned photo shoot with his cable show in Delaware the next day and my other good register guy was on his weekends off and had plans which left me with two guys that can barely get through an hour running the store without me, at that point I knew I was beating a dead horse. I'm glad I got there to watch and see some people for a few hours on Sat. Sorry for the long rant, yea, I feel guilty. |

Thank you Lee and Brian for pulling this all together....piggybacking it with the .90 race makes perfect sense and is likely a blueprint for future events like this.
It was a extremely enjoyable time with the free test and tune, and the cookout was great. A nice well run race. With a coughing sick Beagle race truck in SS, and the ever dangerous Ed-Mobile Gremlin in stock, I had a blast.....and that is why you support these events...... Thanks Eric
