It would almost have to be in a class (say turbo only).....to be a fair shake for the other classes.............I would not mind seeing it as long as they are competing with each other.....This is just my opinion and my opinion only........

There must be a good reason for that.
I would love to hear what it is. Besides the new V-6 Stangs, Camaros, and Challengers, I would love to see the new 1/2 ton trucks allowed in PS. (just dreaming out loud) Alot of the 2011 and later 1/2 tons have strong 6 and 8 cylinder engines My personal favorite is the 2011+ F-150 with the 5.0 Coyote, shortbed, reg. cab., 2wd. I believe they run 14's from the factory.

Bruce told us we could expect to have $1600 or so in the block and crank work. I imagine with extras that figure will close to double. I gave him my modest expectations of what I expected the car to run. He laughed and said, if the car was set up at all, he didn't feel we'd have to worry about going that slow! I love the PS concept. It's what Stock USED to be. My little FWD car won't fit into Pure Stock. Wish they pushed the same number of weight breaks as regular stock.

The Turbo Buick in Pure Stock would be easy to Classify.
When they allowed SS like Cams in Stock. That is when things became crazy. What helps keeps PS sane is the Stock like Spring Pressures. Before the SSizing of Stock you could put together a competitive ride. Without adding a Roll Bar, or specialized fuel tank for super high test on low compression engine, Competition Seat belts that have to be recertified or bought new every two years. There was no way to run SS in old Stock Classes. In fact today's Stockers run SS ET's before the CHANGE. For those that have restored classics. This is a perfect class to race them. All you have to do is re-install the original cam, remove the stickers, polish it up, add the original stock wheels and tires. Then sell your Numbers Ready Barrett Jackson special to the highest bidder. Dan Last edited by Dan Fahey; 09-11-2013 at 09:58 PM. |

It's obvious some have not had the "Turbo" experience as some of us have. At one time I had a -1.20 under combo I felt could play anywhere. That's when I met Shaw's turbo Capri. Too this day remember reaching for the key in high gear thinking the motor shut off when he went by!!! I ran like -1.35 and lost by 10 car lengths! There's a reason for no turbos. I hope its true also about the rumors.
