If i'm not mistaken, this track sued the ADRL but I never heard how it turned out.
There's a very scary video floating around on YouTube with footage of the Pro Mods getting sideways trying to stop in the very short shut off area. Others disappeared into a cloud of dust as they ran long. According to the ADRL, the track promised to upgrade in time for the next season's show. I can't remember if cars got damaged but watching the video you'd swear it was going to happen on almost every run. They didn't fix things properly according to the ADRL, who refused to race there. Thus the lawsuit which I would bet has been thrown out by now. I would think the track is obligated to provide a safe venue (or at least meet previous stipulations) but I'm not a lawyer. Just another data point as to the track's operation. |

If everyone who was there that day cared about what happened to that poor guy they would band together and not go back until ownership/management makes a commitment to the safety of the competitors.
What happened is unacceptable. |

Even if you won the round you'd still lose just trying to stop there.

You guys really don't have much of a clue. I raced at motor mile for a few years during college and it is a top notch facility with great people. You shouldn't be so quick to judge a facility that you have never been to.
One thing to note, and I believe it was mentioned, there is a large working fire extenguister on the outside of the guard wall up there at the turn. The wall is marked red for it as well. There are also quite a few fire extinguishers mounted on the outside of the guardwall along the racing surface and shutdown area. Also... watch that ADRL video again and tell me how far into the shutdown area most of those guys are when they finally get on the binders and have the laundry out. Any racer that knows the shutdown is short should be getting it slowed down way earlier than that. I also wanna make a comment on the website. They don't spend big bucks on that. It was built by the web guy that takes care of the dealership sites and is maintained by the track staff. You all should make a stop in there sometime. Your tune would change. There isn't a more friendly staff anywhere and the facility is top notch. All racers should be aware of their exit strategies and where the safety staff/fire extinguishers are at all times at every track. Only a fool goes to a new facility and doesn't check it out before making a pass.
