wow, I didn't mean to start all this with my comment. My point was that if the people running IHRA stopped long enough to think about "what can we do to attract NHRA racers vs what might we be doing that turns them off?" that racing 1/8 mile at a 1/4 mile facility would be at the top of the list of things not to do.

Will that be a reason for me personally to not go to an IHRA race? Well, it might. I would go to a 1/4 mile combo at bowling green before I went the same amount of miles for an 1/8 mile IHRA points race. Even an 1/8 mile combo might start to look pretty good.

Chad, I too enjoy 1/4 mile racing better but unfortunately there is very little left in our area so I guess it doesn't bother me. I can understand where you guys are coming from but to let distance stop me from racing seems rediculous but as always its your money and spend it as you choose, this my opinion only.

Still like stopping in the middle of sex. LOL

If I'm not mistaken you have to race 1/8th of a mile to get to the 1/4 mile and why would you be slamming on the brakes before the finish line, I thought that was what the shut down area was for?

If you like 1/8th mile races, then go run them.
