Yes, I realize the rear upper point can be raised or lowered.
Moser housings are actually cast with a taller ear there (GM anyway) The Weibe system on the GM cars was "legal" for years..until someone from tech decided to take a close look ...Then it was no longer legal . The bars didn't change one bit. I'd be careful about buying something that may be tech legal for street tire or 8.5 ? classes. We're talking about NHRA Stock here.

[QUOTE=Sean Marconette;450818]None of those shown have any adjustment options from what I can see, like a 4 link, other than the UCA's?
I would recommend making sure the bolts in the LCA's have no slop with the new arms. I replaced my stock bolts, as the bolts are metric and the LCA bushing was 1/2". Actually, if you look close there are 3 adjustment holes to choose from.. In the photo, its bolted thru the center position. Additionally, the kit comes with another set of adjustment plates in split positions so you do have the choice of 6 upper control arm positions..... Quote "The one pictured above mine might not fly...it appears to have some extra bars requiring another attachment point." What you're seeing is the optional diagonal locator trac bar which doesn't use any additional attach points. I ordered this with the kit in the event this is ever used in Superstock with adjustable LCA's w/ heim joints..

They are 100 % bolt on, but you have to drill a hole into the side of the LCA brackets that are welded on the factory rear end housing in order to place a 3/8 " bolt. I have used original Southside brand LCAs for years on my T-Birds with the factory 87-88 Turbo Coupe sway bar. The pic attached is my Gray Bird with Moroso drag springs in the front and Southside lowers with dual air bags. I set the pinion down 3 deg. before I drilled that one hole I mentioned above. Then I used adjustable uppers to dial in the hook. Unlike other cars that "squat" in the rear on launch, those bars help lift the rear and plant the tires. ![]()

My Stocker T-Bird has run a best of 1.51 60ft with a real stock suspension. ( and that was with a short 26 " front tire) It has run several 1.55 60 footers * Stock 1986 upper and lower control arms ( unboxed) * Stock 1986 quad shocks still hooked up * Some industrial belting wound up inside the right coil spring (to help level the car on launch) * Air shocks are the only non factory issue item on the car's rear suspension. I have no idea what the pinion angle is. It works, so I leave it alone.

If I were not experimenting for better results I would just box the stock arms and leave it at that...but I'm always searching for something better.

Took my OEM sway bar off this past weekend for 11 passes and found the car has quite the twist without it. Back on it will go. |
