Re: My 88 Olds wagone U/SA 10 Pennies
Is this a direct bolt in?
I just a acquired a 1985 Pontiac Parisienne Safari Wagon. It has a Chevy 305 4bbl. Looking at the guide, I think the 305 may put me out of the 'Dime Rocket' running. It already has 100 extra HP. But it will be fun for me and my 13 year old to run in Jr Street. Rick Thomason GTOMayhem Last edited by GTOMayhem; 01-06-2017 at 03:43 PM. Reason: mispelling |

Re: My 88 Olds wagone U/SA 10 Pennies
The wagon in question will weigh about 4200 pounds.
That's way, way over capacity for Vega box. The Time Bomb Vega box is smaller, only 2 bolts will line up, the Pitman arm has a much smaller spline, and the rag joint coupler is under the standard GM size too. Years ago, I started to put one on my 78 400 Firebird, but then decided it was too shaky of a deal, just by looking at it. I've seen plenty of 3rd Gen. SBC Camaros with them, and to me , that's about the limit. These wagons should have a standard size GM car, or an S-10 box manual box. It's almost a direct bolt in, except for the Pitman arm, which is the subject for another thread.

I would think a Vega box would be illegal. But I should know better...
