Thankyou Warren and all of his crew for allowing me to see places, tracks, racers and racing from through out the country that I would never see without his feeds. Just the idea of sitting at home and watching racing, not interviews and garbage for 3 or 4 days was absoutley amazing. Greed just ruined something else.

Indeed. It was very much enjoyed and appreciated. Very well done.

Cool Re: NHRA Does It Again - Dragracer.tv

Thanks, Warren. I enjoyed all of it that I watched. It was fun watching friends race when I wasn't there to participate.

I very much appreciate what Warren has done with Dragracer.tv. If he has been offered employment with NHRA.TV I wish he would reconsider as the racing community would benefit greatly from his involvement.

However with NHRA.TV, other than the cost, I would think things will be very much the same. Like Dragracer.tv the announcers are the track announcers. If Unk is announcing that race that is who you will hear.

As far as NHRA.TV it is vastly improved from the original. I watch it on almost every platform available with no issues. On one old computer I have to pull the resolution back a little to prevent buffering but that is it. I do have a very good Internet connection and a good home WIFI network. No issues with Apple TV, iPad or iPhone usage.

I don't understand some of the critique on the NHRA.TV content. It is the same thing you would see and hear if you were at the track. Mostly if not all Sportsman on Friday, mix on Saturday and mostly Pro on Sunday.

NHRA is doing all they can to increase revenue and lower expenses. This is not unlike many other businesses during these unprecedented times.

Consider yourself fortunate if there hasnt been any issues with NHRA TV. There are issues with subscriptions , cancellations, connections etc.

We all appreciate the announcers. They do a good job all the way around.

The issue is with coverage. Seldom is stock and ss covered from beginning to end. They usually start at 10, unless Warren was at the National, and then roll up the cameras after the last pro is down the track.

With the DD’s having this responsibility added to their plate it probably will be an issue.

The main issue we have with it is the new cost that you will pay, that not all members or supporters have, to spend to watch. Consider yourself blessed if $$ not an issue. And what about those who do not want it as part of their subscription being mandated in because NHRA continues to make bonehead moves that added no value.

Live tv cost 10 million a year and only receives 1 million in subscriptions.

Why should we subsidized it - we being the sportsman racer who is not on national tv? So yes, there is a problem with that. Live tv is the issue and cost shifting is the result.

Couple this with live timing that works 50-75% of the time and we are now adding another function onto the DD!

SDS Inc;

I think I have watched every race this year and while this may have happened years ago I don't feel it is true now. My recollection is that this year coverage typically started before the first car went down the track and lasted until the very last race. This was often after the Pro classes had run. Even if I join late I can rewind to the first car down the track. There was even coverage at St. Louis on Monday.

"Live tv cost 10 million a year and only receives 1 million in subscriptions"

Where do you get these numbers? That is about twice what Mello Yello paid is it not?

"Couple this with live timing that works 50-75% of the time"

I certainly cannot dispute this. It can be a major disappointment.

Before NHRA brought Warren in at Indy (2019 was the 1st time - the early qualifying passes were never broadcast at any race) NHRA TV usually never started broadcasting until 10ish. And repeatedly, as long as the pros ran there was coverage with sportmans intermixed.

They then brought him in for the 2020 Indy - US Nats - this year. And again we had full coverage for one race. It rained and the pro sessions run over. It was delayed at no fault of NHRA. After the pros ran the final, NHRA TV went off.

Everyone thought it was an internet issue or some malfunction. The issue was the people (or head person) running it were finished, turned the equipment off and were packing their bags. I will not repeat what was said but can tell you if it wasn't for someone else in the tower that said hey..... you would not have had coverage. Happens more than you think.

It's been an issue and I remember writing emails to the powers to be regarding it. Hopefully this changes. I get sportsman are not the show.

The point is - if we are going to pay for it then we need full coverage always and at all times. But do not give me the bill for someone else.

Michael,

I will just repeat my memories of 2020, I don't recall missing a single round of Stock or Super Stock qualifying or racing.

If it went down the track I got to see it even if the Pros had finished for the day.

Usually the first ten or fifteen minutes of the broadcast is track prep before the first car runs.

Thank you for your support of Dragracer.tv.
