NHRA might take doing this as unsportsmanlike conduct

What happens when someone at NHRA sees this and decide that when the person that entered backs out no one can / will fill that spot?

I was thinking the same thing BUT, I would be more inclined to think that NHRA would probably be more likely to "steal" Charlie-Bob's idea though.

Well Tony, I paid my membership fees, got my competition number and pay money to race at D2 tracks. I have a car that fits into an NHRA class. If. I choose to run for a national title, a divisional title or a double digit is of my choosing.
I raced at the Gators in '88 when there was a whole bunch of Fl (local) racers competing. Before any of the super categories existed. It has turned into a circus. And you are part of it.
Get off your high horse, I'll race where I want and don't need your approval. I'll complain if I want to, and I'll deal with NHRA's nonsense the way I see fit. 50 cars in Stock for a four day event.

What does a serious points challenger from Divisions 1, 4, or 6 do when they do not have 3 in-division national events and the 'home division' racers are given priority at all other events?

There are no California racers currently entered in the Gators but I do appreciate a good strawman.

In reply to Daryl - unfortunately it would pretty much require a 'burn year' to acquire grade points before someone could seriously battle for a championship in most classes.
Actually it’s best 3 of 5 nationals for championship points. I was using California as an example. Typically at the end of the year if you are top 10 they make exceptions to compete for the championship. Most likely if you are a hitter and capable of competing for the championship you will have enough grade points to enter. I don’t get enough time off of work to chase national points. Although I have been top 10 in D2 the last 2 of 3 years. Not bad for an old man with a home built car.
I would have to check but i think most divisions have 3 national events

Best 3 of first 6 national claims count for points except for TS and TD which are best 3 of 5.

For the last 4 national events, racers in the Top 10 are guaranteed entry as are racers in the Top 20 with a chance to get into the Top 10.

The 21 national events are spread around the country as follows:

D1: 2
D2: 4
D3: 4
D4: 1
D5: 3
D6: 1
D7: 6

I'll never argue that the current system has no flaws. It is more or less fair to the racers who support the series, and everyone should know the requirements by now. Every racer has a choice to do what is required or not.

Running a full schedule, whether divisional-only or national, is a huge commitment and I understand why some are unable or unwilling to do it. I just don't understand the constant bitching about it.

It's more or less a 'hardship' thing when the owner was already entered but they need to swap another driver into that car. Each case must be approved by NHRA.

Owner credits may be awarded in cases involving a driver change. The owner must have grade points from the previous year for the category entering. Owner grade points cannot be a combination of multiple vehicles or combined with driver grade points. NHRA approval required.

Everything you are saying is pretty much true. The problem begins when someone with 7 grading points can't enter a race like the Gatornationals.
But as it gets closer, people are withdrawing with 8 and giving their buddy or selling their buddy the spot who might only have 2 or 3 grading points.

And how many people are going to be in the Top 20 if they haven't been to at least 3 National events by the end of the year? And is a guy from New Jersey really going to travel to California because they are 20th and still got a shot?

Or are one of those guy or gals that try’s hard every year to get 8 but can only get 6 or 7 grade points by years end, only to get locked out of races like the Gatornationals, Reading or fall Vegas 90 days before the race even starts year after year. Then boy do we have the answer for you. Myself and a few of my competitor’s that are able to obtain 8 plus grade points each year will enter select national events in the stock or superstock in the class of your choice for only a measly $500-$1500 (prices vary by demand of each event) when each event opens at a grade 8.

This program (GPA) will give you the upper hand over racers with more grade points then yourself that are trying to enter when someone drops below the quote. So give me a call and don’t worry about checking the NHRA registration web site 5-6 times a day to see if a spot open only to be disappointed. Stop looking like a clown begging people to call you if there going to drop out of the event.

We at GPA don’t discriminate if you have 1 grade point or 7 your money is good enough for us. We are just here to help you achieve your dreams of participating at the highest level of competition the NHRA national event.

We currently have 3 of our 4 SS spots filled for the Gatorsnationals filled ($1000 each). First come first serve and currently all three of our stock Gatornationals entries are spoken for ($1000 each).
Disclaimer we DO NOT PAY YOUR ENTRY FEE.

But we do have a waiting list like if you would like to be added we only required a nonrefundable $100 deposit if the spots opens, and you don’t take it. And your deposit is part of the fee so its not like were taking an extra $100. If the spot doesn’t open the $100 is refunded.
We do offer discounts if you want to joint our frequent racer entry program. If you pick a min of 3 national events per season and pay in full.

Please contact myself for more information on the GPA and good luck to all those with 7 or less grade points this season. Remember you can’t win if you home watching on the computer.

Remember don’t hate us for putting this program together, blame NHRA for not caring about a problem that has been going on for years. Were just trying to help our fellow racers in need.
(maybe Hanley and Crutchfield can fix this issue lol)

Just remember the GPA slogan
Put your money where your grade points aren't
Okay Charley you had your fun. Folks this is not real, it's a joke. Some NHRA racers think this is real, ITS NOT! Charley likes to push peoples buttons, especially racers... SKT/SS to be precise.

Now Charley can come back at me and say... "Oh no Ken its real" but I call it BS. Anyone naive enough to think this is real needs a reality check.

One more thing Charley, you will be getting a bill in the mail, you can't advertise without compensation to Class Racer. Now you are in my business, and CRS wants its cut.
