No I dont but lets take the 64 Max Wedge cars that run AA and A and now have to run the ford and the new mopar. Who has the fastest car ? Shaul ? Compare and tell me thats fair, there are a bunch of 63 and 64 wedges out there, what do you think they should do ? If you tell me they should work harder thats crap, tell Shaul and Mosbeck that and see what they tell you.

Bob,

In my comments on the other thread I was not referring to the Shaul’s, Sorenson’s or DeArmonds of the world. I know how hard these guys have worked to get there combos as fast as they are. The work harder comment was in regards to the guys that just whine and moan about everything and don’t put an ounce of effort into making there stuff faster. The same guys that were complaining about all the fast old school cars before the new cars even existed.

Hats off to whomever it was that authored the thread “stock and late models a solution” some sound thinking rather than whining. But in my opinion as good an idea as it is it won’t happen. The new cars will continue to have a distinct advantage or the factories will not continue their involvement

Is the situation fair to the guys with old school AA and A combos? I certainly would not think so if I was one of them.
So no insult intended to the guys who do work hard on their stuff.
But as I said it’s a tough pill to swallow as I see it the old school AA & A cars are now sheep for the new cars to slaughter and that’s not going to change if it brings new cars and factory support to the table. And, as long as the factories view the slaughter as marketing tool things won’t change.

I have an Idea.
How about All cars run shipping weight +170, or heavier. No class changes run the natural class only. This way the Ahfs would work a little better (quicker).
This way when you get moved a class you are moved a class. No add 90 pounds or so and stay where you are.
People talk about the old days, Well this is how we ran in the old days.

In the old days we didn't even add 170 lbs. Car was weighed without the driver. The class you ran was the class you ran.

Yes but they changed that rule in about 1975.
I was serious about this it wasn't meant to be a joke by my normal sarcastic self.
It would take a while but the results would be getting the horsepower straightened out.
It would be hard on the guys that don't work on their stuff, but to them I could say "work harder".
The guys that have worked hard on their stuff would be all right after the Afhs got a chance to work.
And getting factored would mean something.

I understand, the fact that cars from AA to H and even more classes next year will cause more bitchen. Are all these car to just fade away. Even back in the day when the new factory race cars came out it only effected 3 or 4 classes and the old cars moved down a class.because the factory cars were SS first not dumped on top of everybody. We all think different but this is just turning into a big mess. I am not bitchen because of my car, I am pissed because of all the cars that are going to be in the same situation next year, were dose it end ? When there are only new fords and mopars to race? to late than. Nhra should have started out with FX than move them to stock like they did with the FI cars when they fell in line. The factories would have had there play ground and all would have been good but no push them down our throats and gag the whole of Stock Elim. I will continue to yap until Nhra shows some leadership and dose something for us racers instead of just gouging our pockets.

Bob how about what I posted about one class per car? If 20 new cars came out and they had to run each other it would get them adjusted quick. Right now each new car can run at least 3 classes.

Hay Art ! Anything that could help fix this mess should be looked at but it looks like nhra found a way to get rid of half the cars in one foul swoop. FX would do it too. Have a great hollidays, bp

You got that right Terry !

Thank You Jeff for injecting new blood in the Mopar Racing family! I'm a fan of changes and love the new cars and of course all the vintage Iron we've seen over the years.
I will myself stay with my "old" Gen2 V10 Viper, that we hopefully will debute 2011.

Roush Industries doing the finish from the bare lightweight body, and Arrow Racing (who has been the center for all things V10 from the start) is doing the motors. Prototype motor was pretty good. I know it went down the strip, but no info available. @450 HP runs aa/sa @ 3545lbs. Anybody want one? 70 is the projected number which follows the blown Fords of 2010. The thoughts from Detroit is more of these cars will go into storage than the other DP cars, but probably 20 or so race cars. Some familiar racers have signed up already.
