Compression , carb, cam, 3 " stroke ..very little drivetrain issues at that weight. Easy U/Stock index runner.......(A little over 1 hp per cube)

Funny you mention the 2000cc engine. I know for a fact my old buddy, Kenny Meek still has the Pinto that he and his brother set numerous records with in the mid to late 70's. They had the different body parts to make that car anything from a 71 to 73. 74's had the impact bumpers, I had one of those. It classed in X. I stumbled into Toby (his older brother) at a restaurant awhile back. We spent the morning discussing that car. I too, think it has a ton of potential with todays rules. I was there for most of it, we ran that car in U, V and W. At different times we held records in V and W in both NHRA and IHRA. Last record I remember them setting was in V at 15.03. I know that car had 14.8-9 potential. That was with 1977 rules. With todays piston, cam and valve spring rules. The fact you could put a good transmission, flywheel and clutch behind it. Add in a real rear end with some gear selection. I can see this combo being stupid fast with a little work.

Middle of winter, anybody up for some "Light" reading?
I hope that Kenny doesn't mind me bringing these back to the top, I'm bored.

That's why I brought back the 340 intake thread. Some nights , the Happy Valley Rest and Retirement Home newsletter has more action than this place!

That's why in 73 I built the Vega 4 banger wagon for Z/S (@2420lbs). No one knew anything about them because in was the first. Hence no bitching
