Everyone, thank you so much for the reporting since NHRA hasn't let us know what is going on. However I am presently sitting in a rather large rainstorm heading that way. Do we really think that the pits are going to get any better today? Keep the updates coming and thanks again.

Brian, I was in the truck pulling out when I recieved a phone call, I am sitting tight until more info comes in, did not this happen last year at the Grove? The weather gods are angry my friends.

Last year NHRA did indeed permit late withdrawals, which several took advantage of. Wouldn't it be more favorable to run Maple Grove-Charlotte-Dallas? Maybe even put St. Louis following Maple Grove. Don't know that NHRA can outwit Mother Nature but it seems more logical than what it is now.

Last year was a little different as the major rain stopped Tuesday and the sun(?) was out Wednesday and they elected not to park us to allow drying time in the field. When they did park us on Thursday the NHRA was super accomidatimg even doing tech at the racer's trailers to keep move, ent to a minimum.
This year there are showers possible 'til Friday morning.

I think you're probably right Brian - the grounds will likely be wetter tomorrow.

Well the sun is back out and here we sit.
latest weather does not look promising.

NHRA does nothing to further endear itself by not directly telling the racers what is going on.
Silence on their part only helps to start rumours, and piss off their customers.

From Kent Hanley:

"From what i was just told Stock, Super Stock , SG and SC will be parked tomorrow Thursday provided conditions permit.

ALL racing for Thursday has been cancelled.

If the pits conditions do not improve and conditions do not permit us to park tomorrow i have been told they will let us know what they are doing with us early tomorrow.

Everything else is just speculation."

So we have the same unfortunate situation as last year? One shot Friday and eliminations saturday. F**k you mother nature.

Can't add to what has already been said other than to say it's all true. I am a little concerned that no word has been formally announced by NHRA but was told this morning they were working on the "verbiage". I don't know what that means other than to simply say what has already been leaked out informally. Right now the lots at Vanity Fair are filling up and I'm not sure they can hold 200-300 rigs but there is room right now. And if the weathermen are right (although I'm not sure they really ever are) we could be in some deep s@#$.
