Thumbs up Re: SS/K Stick Shift Shootout Class Nationals May 2014

Ed, you have done a GREAT JOB with this! It shows what is possible when People take action to support their passion! Keep it up. If anyone wants to jump in and support this class, don't be shy! I am sure Ed can handle the extra support. Still time to get some more K Cars ready.

I was going to ask Billy Nees to try to find a Plymouth Reliant for me, but as a promoter, I can't compete at the race anyway. ;-)

Another supporter has come aboard for the SS/K Stick Shift Shootout. Jeff Taylor Performance will pay 200.00 to the winner and 100.00 to the runner up if you have a Jeff Taylor engine or use his products or services. Thanks Jeff!

Just wondering since the purse is large PRIZE $$$ will there be fuel check, scales and inspections?? Also, will there be tear down of winner & runner up to make sure everyone is what they say they are?? Just wondering if it is going to be fair for everyone involved??

I know this if for FUN.... but for this kinda $$$ people will do crazy things??

Thanks,

The event flyer has stated since day 1 that there will be tech, scales, fuel check, and inspections may be done at any time.

While in need of updating with the strong influx of sponsors, the latest version of the flyer is always available on www.looserocker.com.

See the interest in this? NHRA, and IHRA are missing the boat. Racers, and spectators want to see HEADS UP RACING! THEY DON'T CARE HOW FAST THE CARS ARE! THEY WANT TO SEE HEADS UP RACING!!!!!

Randy : I am going to have to disagree with your assessment of Racers and Spectators wanting to see Heads up racing . The reason long time ago the index system was done was to save racing for the racers as well as the spectators who like the thrill of the Chase. The Stock and Super Stock classes racing off the records was killing Stock and Super Stock as There was not a fair and balanced playing field for the less finance racers and as a result the racers with the most money always won (just like Pro Stock is Now and Pro Stock is in trouble and most likely will be changed in some form next year ) Stock and Super Stock racing in it present form is not broken it is working for the majority of the racers .

FYI There is Heads up racing now if two cars in the same class run each ,there is no break out works just fine

Keep this kind of stuff out of my Shootout. This is a fun deal for us and yes it will be heads up racing. I just thought it would be fun for us small block racers to get together from all over the country and see what everyone has. No more no less.
