Red face Re: Sliding through the lights trying to stage

Look guys, lets be honest here. There are two major reasons for taking a dive, in any sport. 1.) Money. 2.) You want to help a guy (friend) achieve a goal.

Now I'm not saying there was any money exchanged in this deal, only the people involved and God know that. Maybe it was a combination of both. There is an old adage that says "if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and walks like a duck..... it's a duck! In this deal it looks as if at least four racers walked like a duck....... for whatever reason. The video pretty much clinched it for me. Mr. Lamb's "deer in the headlights" look was obvious.

Look, many good people do "whatever it takes" to achieve a goal, or help a friend, or make some money. How many times have you heard neighbors say "He is a good boy, never bothered anyone" about a mass murderer? Not to say that taking a dive is equal to murder but hopefully you get the point. The point is that if you are to be honest about this, everyone reading this would at some point in their life would do something they normally would not do for one of the above two reasons. Statistical research positively backs my statement. All it takes is the "opportunity" at the right time in your life.

Given the facts of this particular incident, there is about a trillion to one chance Mr. Lamb did not receive "help" with this championship. This is the problem with the "ends justify the means" attitude. The means does matter! Jim

I think this race is the one that needs to be explained. Doesn't make sense.

Well, that was very weird! Neither car made a burnout and just pulled directly up to the starting line and staged. As soon as they staged, Lambeck drove slowly away. Lamb took the green and drove down the track right behind Lambeck. You decide what this was all about!!

I think 3 of 4 were obvious, I think it could have been done in a way that could have been a little more conspicuous and not been a slap in the face to fellow competitors. The way this thing went down was worse than Clint Bowyer's spin in the NASCAR scandal. My question is will NHRA do anything or let it go? I understand this is not professional sports but lets say some kid threw a high school or college game on purpose, what do yout think the repercussions would be? Funny thing is he appears to be very talented and may not have even needed all the shenanigans to win, guess we will never know that one. By the way, congrats to Mr Skillman on a fine season.

No dog in this fight but nothing has ever been said about bothers from Texas who just do not show up to race each other to give the round to who ever needed the points? All of them are good guys just depends what glasses you are looking threw. Tom

We all saw what happened when he raced a real "Champion", Chuck Rayburn in the next round. He lost.

Oh yeah, and congratulations to Drew for a great season. We know who the real champion is!
