Default Rich Feldman-"Mr. Security"- R.I.P.

It is with great sorrow that I report the loss of our friend Rich Feldman. He lost his life today due to pancreatic/liver cancer that acted so quickly and so aggressive that within days the decline of his health was evident. Rich was a man of great integrity with the racing community and directly related to my involvement in drag racing for the last 49 years. Many don’t know but Rich enjoyed working on his cars and Ham radios normally getting only 2-4 hours a sleep a night for years. His lifelong voluntary work in the East Liverpool/St. Clair Township, Ohio area along with his wife and family will be remembered forever. The “Mr. Security” name started very early in the years as Rich and his family under their Father, Ben, were known as the “First Family of Insurance” insuring clients nationwide.

Rich was involved, especially during the Gulf War and almost every day since, in providing phone patches to our Armed Forces members through a program called the M.A.R.S. network He sat most nights by his Ham radio connecting the families of our service members with their sons/daughters via Ham radio. He was working the switch between them by hand as they transferred messages sometimes private about happenings at home and abroad even related to notifications of deaths and births by family members. These signals sometimes were sent to land and sea along with our bombers and transport planes making their missions.
We will all miss him dearly, Rich, Rest In Peace……………………………………… ………………
I will post info later on Funeral Arrangements.

Great man, awesome car. Very sad to hear. Thanks for the added story. I didn't know a lot of that about him. He will be missed.

Very saddened to learn of the passing of Rich. Rich has been a "racing friend" to me and a huge number of others for many years. Godspeed Rich.

Never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Feldman, but it sounds like he was a great man. I always enjoyed seeing pictures of his beautiful car. Rest in peace sir.

Very sorry to hear this. I will certainly miss seeing him at the track. His Impala was one of the first S/S cars I remember seeing as a kid when Rich would test out at Quaker City.

This is really sad indeed. I always looked forward to his Insight and conversations about heavy low power stick cars. It was always colorful.

Very sad to hear of Rich's passing. I watched him race for as long as I can remember, and spoke to him at the track on many occasions. R.I.P. "Mr. Security".

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Rich, I have not raced for a few years but have stayed in touch with Rich.

If there ever was a person who you could depend on, it was Rich, rain or shine day or night, he was always there to help if you needed it!

I was new to the race scene but that didn't matter, I ran the same combination as he did, 283 stick shift SS we even squared off a couple of times in eliminations, as always he was a gracious winner and the same if he did not win.

A true friend indeed R I P Rich!

Your Friend
