There are a bunch of traditional stockers out there without VIN numbers. Are you saying that Chip Johnson needs to park my 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass because it doesn't have a VIN and wasn't sold through a dealership?

then follow the rest of the rules that the rest of us have to follow. Witch means no 9in rears unless it's a ford, no power glides unless it's a chevy,
All the rule changes of the last twenty years are what enabled the existence of the COPO, Drag Pak, and Cobra Jet. There were a ton of heated debates about those changes on the forums. In my opinion the end result is a case of "you get what you wish for".

Almost all the new cars are not friendly to the old suspension rules. Due to a lot of interest from racers, the NHRA allowed the implementation of "stock type" suspensions in the new cars. I think it started with the late model Corvettes and GTOs. Do you want them parked too? Do I need to put a torque arm under my new Camaro? (It has provisions on the center section just in case)

Gump, what they want is for NHRA to stay in the 1960, 70's, and 80's where their said combo ruled. They are not worried about advancement in technology from the manufactors for our sport. They believe is ludicrous that a car other than theirs can come into a class and take over. No one want to hear that their cars are considered old technology and new blood is coming down the assembly line. The manufactures can't produce 1970 race cars anymore. Come on guys find another dead horse to beat.

Joey, it's not about resisting technology. When you have heads that flow over 300cfm right out of the box and 90mm throttle bodies and .550 lift cams, most folks that know anything about motors know how much hp these cars can make. What all you guys want is unfair advantage. What Nhra should be doing is providing a level playing field, not bending over to certain folks. Any of you that think our combination is easy, jump right in there and see how easy it is. There are other old cars that run Andrew's class that are just as fast or faster. I would not want to run a red Pontiac at Indy.

No one ever said anything about combinations to be easy but if you had the opportunity to but today's technogly or 1970's which would you purchase? Some will say with out a doubt the 1970's don't get me wrong those are some awesome cars! Some will say the new cars, everyone can choose what they want to race and considering the big three are producing better parts now than what was available in the 70s 80s and 90's what do you expect. If new combos don't come out what do you think the history of stock will be? Do you think NASCAR would have the same amount of fans of all the had on the tracks was 70,80,and 90 model cars with the technology and parts?

What I know is I have one of the first new 2010 Camaro. Which is in NHRA books. Automatic 400hp. L99 not a LS3 which is 426 with a stick. Now I asked NHRA what rear ended can I run. Their answer was you tell us how you want to set it up. Details on your suspensions. Really so you don't know. Bill Bogues has been telling to build this car. The car would be a A/SA car and now the 2015 Camaro is 35hp less really. My point is who took the 2015 camaro to NHRA and a bogus hp. JS Nothing I have in garage looks like a COPO. Has anyone ever heard of a L99???

For those wanting to know the real specs on a street legal 2015 Camaro SS that could be bought at the dealer, not a bogus car made out of a body in white, go to :

http://media.chevrolet.com/media/us/...2015.tab1.html

It shows the L99 with an automatic and a LS3 with a six speed manual. And the shipping weight is way more than the classguide shows.

In 2011 I took my 2012 Camaro SS straight from the dealer and weighed it. It was 3760. It had zero options. That is also with about 500 lbs of stuff that you can legally remove under today's rules. I sent my findings to Chevrolet and the answer was basically "we know".

How many pilot cars do you think are built without options and weighed with minimal gas in the tank?

Joey, Have you watched a NASCAR race lately, Last week's Brickyard was a joke as far as FAN attendance. I bet NASCAR wish they had 80's 90's fan base back! Now back the bogus car in the guide the problem I have is putting new cars in the guide with wrong Factory hp at the Top engine / car combination. If the motor is factory at 426hp and NHRA putt's in the guide at the bottom at 365hp that's there choice.JK3954

They don't roll off the showroom floor as a BIW if they are passed off as street legal instead of purpose built for racing like a COPO.

So this 2015 Camaro SS does not have to weigh what the MVMA specs say but all the older stockers in the classguide are based on the MVMA shipping weight.
