[QUOTE=SStockDart;612638]I just don't know how one can put percentages on human lives. 98% survival rate sounds pretty good........unless you are in the other 2%.[/QUOTE

Where is the outrage against smokers kills 30% obesity, high blood pressure the flu is more deadly. No one wants to be in the 2% but if you are a fat smoker with high blood pressure it is probably a lot higher than that. If you take care of your body this virus is nothing.

This will be an obvious answer to most rational people. There is no outrage because a fat smoker can not kill a multitude of people. He can only kill himself.

The emphasis should not be on the 98% that likely would survive, but on the total, including the Viet Nam veterans that gave their all.

I am a Viet Nam era veteran (U.S. Navy from 1967-1971 on a nuclear submarine and 2 submarine rescue ships). I have never smoked, but I am 73 years old and I have asthma; otherwise, I am in excellent health. Due to my age and underlying condition, if I were to get this disease, the consequences most likely would be dire. Be safe everyone, I hope to see you at a race at some point this season!

You're welcome Bruce; you and I are in complete agreement regarding COVID-19 and several other things that I won't mention here.

I left Missouri this morning, drove to North Dakota heading back to work. I drove through South Dakota on I 29, not much traffic, when I was north of Sioux City South Dakota, just north of town is a dirt track, the pits were full of late models and modified dirt cars, seen cars on the track and people in the stands, not sure if they were just hot lapping or racing, but looked pretty full to me, so there are people out there racing. Was wondering if Thunder Valley in Marion is open.

How close is that track to the Smithfield Pork Plant in South Dakota?

Smithfield plant is 100 miles south, Sioux Falls, but most effected there are migrants, pretty sure they don't run in the same circle.

I'm just trying to make some sense of all these people at this Dirt Track today? They are about 100 miles from what is now described as a NATION HOTSPOT for COVID-19, after the Smithfield announcement. A processing plant that has about 3700 employees. It has now been announced that close to 700 people, employees and people directly involved with those from the Plant have tested positive. With the pits full of Late Models and Modified Dirt Cars and people in the stands. Makes me wonder how many of the remaining 3000 people, may have attended this event? Meanwhile the rest of the people in THE WORLD have been ordered to stay out of the public and indoors if possible. What makes all these people attending and participating at this event SO SPECIAL that they don't have to follow the orders that have been given to the rest of THE WORLD, Hot Lapping or not? MB
