I can't say I was driving well, I got lots of breaks when I needed them, final included. Brian is a tough racer and I knew he was going to be on time. I was not hitting the tree well and knew I had my work cut out for me. Brian did great job driving John Caliendo's Firebird. Wendy Caliendo could not make the race, so Brian filled in. I know runner up is not what Brian wanted, but he did great job.

I know I'm rambling here a bit, but I would like to say that there were so many good drivers at this race. Towards the end there will still many of the best left, The young drives like Bubba Linke, Dustin Lowell, Dave Ficacci and the season drivers like Brian VanPopple, David Barton, Steve Calabro and of course Pete Biondo. To come away with a win is indeed very special.

Thanks again everyone.

Larry, your dating me pretty good here. 91 and 97, with the same car that I have now, minus enhancements
Ken:
Congrats on your third win at E'town. Everyone wants to win big at their hometown track and you have done it three times!! I think you need to give some of the other guys a shot, no?? You and that car...

X TECH MAN said, "Score one for the old muscle cars in AA/SA."

I can't believe you, of all people, said that....

Ken got a well-fought win, while driving an exemplary race, and surely was a VERY DESERVING winner, using what he had, braving the possibility of blown Mustangs and D-P Challengers that he knows can eat his lunch, anytime, anywhere... but, he fought the good fight and persevered, in spite of all odds. You gotta admire his spirit and driving ability, for sure! Nice to see a guy who believes in himself and his car, in the winner's circle!!!

But to say that this race was won by an "old muscle car" is to ignore its "paper car" status and the fact that nothing even remotely like this single 4bbl 428 was around in the original 1967 GT 500's, is to believe in fairytales.

It's a class legal AA/SA car in every respect; an "old muscle car" it is not...

My 2-cents....
