I have thought about this, also. It is my opinion the real impact will be on guys that bought the new car combos. They will have had 3 years in some cases of an advantage to the older cars, but next year looks like they will be banging it out against each other. This can turn into an very, very expensive bracket car for them. Our car is just a very expensive bracket car. Not a very, very expensive one. ![]() Don |

Don't have a heart attack. It's an option, as is the blower and the turbocharger. I think the real intent is to replace the old Darts and Cudas in the Hemi Challenge with the new body style that they sell in the show room today. In either case, it is a deep pocket sport. Barton and Westcott will dislike it the most. I'm just saying..........

Modern transmissions have Roll Controll integrated, so that shouldn't be a suprise. But I must say that after five years of development of our SS/D V10 I am sceptical to this new package.... The small HEMI is a WAY better engine!

While I look forward to seeing these cars on the track, I don’t see anything wrong with the former policy of build 500 for stock, 50 for Super Stock and a few for FX.
In their day the 68 A body race cars had a lot of items that were pretty far afield from the production cars. While I would like to see a lot of the cars in Super Stock run in a Modified Eliminator that is not going to happen, the 2011 Drag Paks are pretty tame compared to the little Pro Stockers that run in the eliminator today. A little off this topic but like I have said before, we don’t need any more classes but I think the blown cars should be in separate classes. Bill Lamb |

So please explain to me how roll control works in a modern transmision. I have never noticed car companys touting this new advancment. But I must admit I have not really looked either. Do they hold the car still at iddle but let it move just above that or will it act as a trans brake.

The customer do notice it when the function atomatically engage when standing still with the car in D in a steep hill...the car doesn't roll backwards even if you step of the trottle and don't use the brakes. I will remain in the same position until you floor it. In my mind the same function as a transbrake...

Well I have held off posting because this sort screws up my idea of having the first V10 Viper in stock. Very disappointing for me.
This engine will be equipped with what is know as a "cam within a cam" From Chrysler's post "Unique engine calibration" Real time changes to lobe centers and duration and overlap by the on-board computer I guess they have fixed the oiling issues the V10 has and figured out how to put some seat pressure on the valves Move over boys there is a new sheriff in town If you didn't like variable fuel adjustments during a run related to atmosphere and barometer - well now deal with - changing you cam with out turning a wrench as you go down the track It is a brave new world Finally technology has come to our sport
