I'm not trying to be funny or start an argument, but these issues seemed to be confined to division 4.

And not to mention this may have been the only race that was like that. I only recall one race being like that and it was due to the scales not functioning.

When I quit going four years ago, it happened twice one year, and no mention of the scales. Both were div 4 races, same summer.

I've been racing IHRA for the last 3 years full time, and I don't think there has been a race that they didn't run heads ups.

Maybe they stopped doing that. I know I was not the only one unhappy with that.
I ran with them two years. I don't remember seeing you at them. None close to me anymore anyway.

I am certain we had heads up runs in San Antonio this year. Unfortunately, I brought a knife to a gunfight and have a losing time slip to show for it. Haven't been to a race in D4 the past 2 years where heads-up wasn't contested.

As I said, they may have quit doing that.

Unfortunately both santioning bodies have issues and tough economic times make it easier for people to simply throw in the towel with either. I hate that you had a bad experience with them Mr Wright cause D-4 could certainly use some SS cars. I will probably race more with IHRA next year than NHRA simply because it is easier for me to make their races. I'm hoping to see more changes from the new leadership but thus far it hasn't materialized but we shall see. Mr Wright I hope if you ever do give them another chance it goes well.

Here's a question for all you snooty NHRA racers...do you have shoe polish on your car, then you're a bracket racer...period! Heads up races are only for the big money racers. Heads up races are designed, by nature, to eliminate the racers that don't have the money to be competitive.

head's up: If I remember right a couple of years ago at the pine valley pro-am for the sunday race they drew cards for pairing and didn't have heads up runs. I don't remember the reason for it (weather?) but we haven't been to any other pro-am's where they did this.
