Joe can only add points at the vegas divisional.

And doing the math I do believe that no one, including Joe can catch Stanfield in Super Stock and Greg has a chance to better his points this weekend in Vegas if he wins 3rd round, car count pending.

Unless there's a mistake somewhere or NHRA changed national points counting for sportsman, Its best 3 out of 5 national events counted. NHRA point standings shows Joe has 5 national events claimed already.

Yes, divisional event is 5 out of 8 and Joe has 1 divisional race to claim in both Stock and Super Stock according to NHRA point standing info.

How points are earned:

Each driver in the remaining NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series categories is eligible to compete for points at eight divisional and six national events. When a driver has competed in those eight divisional and six national events or the season ends at the Auto Club NHRA Finals, his or her best five divisional and best three national finishes will constitute the driver’s NHRA Sportsman championship points total.

John, I wondered about your previous post but you’re certainly not alone in winding down through the myriad of links and haphazard points tally (where they do give accurate points but lag in showing the accurate number of events attended is common) to decipher different driver positions. NHRA eventually gets it right but they obviously put more effort into PRO points.
