They said in a Facebook post that they were going to announce the schedule on 1/2/25. They are now saying there will be 10 Nitrojam events, I am curious to where these races will be, as there are very few IHRA tracks on the east coast.

Just a question, but does the NHRA still have the ban in effect on nitro cars "testing" or running another sanctioning body?

Will nitro run 1/8 mile, 1000', or 1/4 mile?

I would imagine IHRA would stick with 1000' given the speeds nitro is running these days. I've heard rumblings that Pro mod will be 1000' as well, which is something many many pro mod drivers have been calling for. That last 320' is hard on shyt, but 1/8th mile is too short to appreciate the speed. There will be an announcement today at 11am regarding dates, locations, and payouts.

I don't know if NHRA has a ban on outside nitro running/testing, but NHRA nitro teams did participate in the PRO race last year and will again next month. If there is a ban, it isn't being enforced.

From the IHRA Facebook page:

🗣️ ATTENTION IN THE PITS!

Given the scope of our current discussions and negotiations regarding today?s announcement and to the benefit that it will have our track partners, racers, marketing partners, and racers, we are going to reschedule the announcement to give it the stage that it truly deserves.

Please keep an eye on IHRA.com, IHRARacer.com, and our social media channels for the new date and time.

Thank you for your support and understanding. Back to the boardroom!

Welp.

The negativity in the comment section of that post is so defeating. There are a handful of individuals with knowledge of the upcoming announcement that seem extremely excited and optimistic, but the people that aren't in the know are already calling for Kenny Nowling's head.

I'll just keep waiting patiently, I tend to believe my fellow racers that do know what's up and are still very excited.

I watched the video he did this afternoon. I guess he jumped the gun with his hype a few weeks ago? I really hope they get back in gear and have great success. As far as folks calling for Kenny's head, I know some racers who've been into NHRA, IHRA, PDRA, AHRA since the 80's through now, who've known him. They tell me not to get hopes up or hold my breath, (putting it lightly). Whatever he did to turn folks against him before, I hope is squashed and behind everyone. Hope he can bring IHRA back to what it once was and more.

Unfortunately he ran the ADRL into the ground at least twice and stuck a lot of people for money.
