I don`t remember THAT car, but Jerry Pruitt`s 64 Custom 2 door sedan that ran SS/N with a 352 4 speed was a regular competitor in Div.6 for years. He later put the running gear from the big car into a 83 or 84 Mustang and ran in GT/J for a few years. I believe that the Mustang failed Tech at a points race a number of years ago, due to having a flexible cable steering shaft (stock early Pinto stuff), and he took the car home and it has sat ever since.I have heard that the Mustang is still in his possesion.

A few other oddbballs" from Div. 6 were Dave Wrens D/MC Plymouth Arrow, Butch Balls 9 second AA/MC turbo Pinto, Jim Caughlins SS/EC Pinto, and his current SS/FS 96 Ford Escort, and Larry Dowty`s FWD Super Stock GS 90 Pontiac Grand Am. The Davidson family ran a 70 or 71 Olds Vista Cruiser wagon in both Stock & S/S, Phil Marvetz ran a slant 6 Duster for a short time, and Jim Mantles 6 cyl AMC Pacer wagon is likely as odd as it can possibly be! It almost makes Rick Greens W/SA Pinto seem "mainstream"!

I don't think anyone's mentioned the two Twin H-Power, dual-carbureted, early-fifties Hudson Hornets of Jack Clifford, one race car, one tow car; BOTH Class winners at Indy one year around 1966.... can't remember exactly when it was.
I don't remember anyone else ever winning class with their race car AND their tow car, at the same race.... much less, at INDY!
