I was never a member of this forum until now because I felt I had to say a few words about Janet. I first met Janet thru my friendship with Jody. I don't race, in fact, Jody was the one who got me hooked on drag racing as a fan. Thru this friendship I was introduced to his mom Janet and immediately was aware of how nice and kind of a person she was! I could not step foot inside her trailer without her wanting to cook me a meal! She would always laugh about how much stuff I would buy from the Nitro mall or any other stand. I would always have fun with her on taking her picture because she did not like it, but you know I'm glad I took those pictures! You did not have too know her well too understand how passionate she was about her two sons racing, Jody&Toby. She was so proud. My personal favorite memory of her was when Jody doubled up a few years ago at Pacific raceways at a divisional and the smile on her face could of reached Mt. Rainier from the track! My wife Jill quickly fell in love with her and when she was not at a race she would always ask how Janet was doing first before she asked how Toby or Jody were doing. The world is a emptier place without her, but I'm glad I can say like all of you, she was my "FRIEND"...........

Toby & Jody---we are so sorry to hear about your mother....breaks our heart to know one
of the nicest ladies in drag racing is no longer with us....it won't be the same...she will be
missed.....

I am so very sorry for the loss.

I'll miss not seeing her at the track, buzzing around on her 3 wheeler.

She was passionate about racing, and supporting her boys.

What a great tribute this thread is! To see people from all around the US and Canada giving support really shows her impact on the racing community!

Jody and Toby, hope to see you at the races soon. You will be in my prayers.

Jody, Toby, and the entire Lang family we are deeply sorry for your loss. Your mom Janet always greeted Deb and I at every race we were at. She truly was a wonderful woman. Not only did Division 6 loose a special person but all of NHRA drag racing has. She was a common fixture on her three wheeler and note pad jotting down notes on the starting line as the christams tree. Jody, Toby, I am sure your mom is going to be still on that three wheeler in heaven and giving you spiritual advise in the staging lanes. God be with you in these difficult days.

Toby and Jody-

You guys should be proud to have spent so much time with her. Every time I saw her she would give me a hug, a big smile, and always have something nice to say to me. A genuine lady with 2 genuine and talented sons. She will be missed by all and by me for sure!

I think my heart stopped for a moment when I saw this very sad post. I sat on the wall many times with her over the years , waiting for the stockers to come out. When we changed over to Super Stock she would still make sure to wave or say Hey when she saw me or Fred. We will miss her dearly. God Speed Janet Lang.

Jody, Toby, Dale, Cody-

I am very sorry for your loss. Janet will be missed by all at the track, none of which will miss her as much as you do. Never did Janet pass by on the three wheeler without a smile and a "hello". As you know, you are all so lucky to have had Janet involved in your lifes passion. We are all lucky to have known her.
