![]() what does it matter if its 10Hp, or 200Hp underfactored, whats the point. Since the inception of NHRA , there HAS always been combos that are underfactored!!!!!!!!!!!! There are some that are overfactored. Stephen Johnson #2162 Horace Johnson #2167 SS/D 427 Ford Fairlane NHRA-IHRA |

You are trying to add 150 horsepower to the nhra factored horsepower. That's not the way they do it. A fair rating for this motor should be no less than it's three valve cousin @510.

The cobra jets are rated at the same horsepower rating as the baddest muscle car engines in the 60's, the 427 ford and 426 Hemi and the 427 chevy. Don't you think it is a bit extreme to say they are 150 horsepower underrated when they are only 330 cubic inches? Robert Ponds AA/S Fairlane was faster at Pomona than the Cobra Jets were. Until some one runs fast enough in competition, I don't think you have a leg to stand on.

We have the car apart now and don't plan to race again until the Norwalk divisional. Look for another CJ in Super Stock at the Indy divisional.

Bruce,
I give, you win this one as I don't know what else to say. I hope you and every other person who lays awake at night wondering how this abomination of an animal is allowed to compete on the hallowed ground of natural stockers get's there wish that the cobra jet is refactored to 1250 hp at the wheels no less. It will be destined to compete in Pro Stock by the end of the year. Smitty |
