[QUOTE=Michael Beard;561958]This should already be the case, with just two lanes. We have run a complete race with over 400 entries, 1 time trial, and 1 round of Re-Entry style buybacks in one day, numerous times.
My point is that if they used all four lanes, even if just for qualifying and the first couple rounds, it would go almost twice as fast as a traditional two lane track. As far as racers whining about which set of lanes they are in, why not just adopt a standard track prep. Same prep to both sides before competition, same prep between classes, X number of passes by tractor, X gallons of traction compound, etc. Make whatever you do consistent between the lanes. It can't be any worse that sitting around all weekend waiting to run after numerous pros have run and track prep or conditions have changed from when you ran a time trial 36 hours ago.

Just add a day. that would fix a lot. we use to have 128 fields for stk and s/s and got it all done. just a guy with a "street car with stickers" opinion, lol

"someone" is making the decisions on track prep--who runs-- when and how etc. I am taking weather and "noise restrictions" totally out of this discussion--I am assuming conditions that "we" have control over are the ones being discussed here. You have to get in contact with that person/s to express your feelings and suggestions. Is it NHRA personnel or the "track personnel' making prep decisions?? --next it seems like it really does take an extraordinary amount of time to run X number of cars off---there is a better way to do it you just have to get in contact with the "right" people to make it happen---FED 387

Beardie is one of a few people that could do this job efficiently but I think that he's done work for the NHRA for free already and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for him to do it again.

Its late, but here are some shots from today's action. I do have many more photos, and will add them when I get home.Than ran a little late today due to the many oil downs along with a Pro Mod hitting the wall at the top end.
The Factory Stock Showdown finial had author Kohn taking out David Barton on a hole shot. It was a close finial and was fun to watch. The FSS cars are putting on a great show show. Tuning these car to get down the track will be the key to winning the championship this season. Congrats to all the winners and runner ups. Nice job James, now get back to reporting. Just kidding, you had a good weekend while over coming all the your issues. |
