Well its Tuesday and about 100 plus rigs that did not want to race the national or could not get in are gone. It like ghost town, lots of rigs here but very few people. Most found places to go, I'm still at the track and working on the race car, never seem to have time between reports and racing.
I forgot about the short video I made, so that's posted below. No detailed schedule posted yet. I'm sure there will be some out today working on there cars and I will gets some photos and post later. |

Good video, and congrats to Tyler Caheely in his truck for another big win. In the video you can see his Dad, Eddie who has many wins and a IHRA World Championship in Super Rod. Father/son/family racing is a great tradition in our sport and one which will hopefully keep it healthy for many years to come. Thanks Ken for all your reporting and pics.

Hey everyone, another pretty much do nothing day. Tech cards are just dropped and check for proper weight and class by Travis Miller, nice to see him at the races again.
Most of the rigs that came in today were the Factory Stock Showdown cars. I will cruise by and gets some photos, I am sure those teams will be working hard after their race at Bradenton. |

Instead of a do nothing day, NHRA could have made "Tear Down Funday", wouldn't that be a hoot!

I know another promoter and myself spoke about this last week with the lower car counts and the run schedule of 2 time runs Thursday and 1st round Thursday Night. You wonder if this is the wave of the future that all races (3 or 4 day) has first round for sportsman on the first day. Get them in and out 1/2 out the door by Friday. I really think Little Associations and big time sportsman races might be the wave soon. Maybe Myself, Lee Zane, Brian Van poppel, Mike Beard and others shot our bullets too soon and should have waited a few years.

Not many cars out, but I did find a few. For those of you who didn't see or read the schedule, Super Street is out first at 8am followed my Stock. 2 shots for all sportsman, followed by first round later in the day.

BKSG Not sure if your timing was off. What I do know is that if I had a car at that time you guys did your race I would have been there. I did make the long trip to Byron ILL. (18 hours) When Alex ran the Class national race there. Sure it was a long trip but I would do it again. It's nut's that racers or keyboard racers will get on her and Bit## about what is wrong with entrance fee's and payouts along with low quota's. And then not support races like that. I along with other's are putting in the time, effort and money to make The Dave LeBrun/ Alan Peter's Memorial Race a success. If you are within an 8 hour drive and don't come to this race shame on you!!! So to my racing colleagues don't get on here and whine and cry about whats wrong with the races your going to and not show up on June 23 at Lebanon Valley NY. Barry

Barry,
I totally agree and don’t want to hijack Kens “live” from post cause he does a great job for the people who are still stuck up North. I think you guys doing it the weekend before the Lucas Race should be a hit, especially if they can leave their stuff there for the following weekend. I always thought it was the location (Numidia) as to the reason Lee & Brian’s $10,000 to win race and my .90 Nationals didn’t work out until the Lucas Race came back to Numidia in 2018. I think Lee & Brian’s highest count in the years they did it was like 90+ Cars for $10,000. The LODRS had 150 between the two classes...just makes you go hmmmm, even the .90 cars tripled at the LODRS race over a race I had a year before that put out $1,500 to win per day. It would be great to figure it all out but, never will. Good Luck on your event! - Rob Keister |
