I don't know if this was intentional but both of these songs use the "flanging" technique in their recording.
Back then, they would play two identical tapes side by side, and then drag their finger on the edge (flange) of one to delay it slightly to create a unique cosmic sound.
Used quite a bit in the late 60's, it actually was introduced in 1959 , quite by accident.

This one seems to "catch up" with one machine and possibly lead the other one in the middle somewhere.

Tomorrow Never Knows was full of overdubbed tracks recorded and played back at different speeds.
At the time that song was not able to be played live due to all the layers of changed speeds etc.
I'm sure you recall that "seagull" sound was actually a recording of Paul laughing and played back at a much fast speed.
I'm big fan of the psychedelic sound.

This might be the best known example of phasing , or flanging ,maybe, from the late 60's
Not all phasing is done by flanging. However, if you look up flanging on Wiki, they sample this song}

I'm back ! Been really busy. And just to let everyone know,.. I'm out of the racecar business. Sold out...... Everything is gone. Huntzberry's over in Maryland purchased everything. And I just received a call from Marietta Ohio to head over and do a COPO. I'll continue to do some tunes (Holley) but I'll try to stay away from the tracks as much as possible. I kind of promised Sue ...Now I'll now set my sights on my stereo. I already have all the big ticket items in place, 3000 watt amps (IV*5) for my surrounds and center, 1000 each for my mains (IV*2). A complete Legacy system. Focus SE Mains, Phantom Surrounds ,Deco Rears, along with (2) 18 inch subs with 800 watts each. For you audiophiles, I'll post their page and you can look over their stuff. I have hundreds of older Albums, but I need a turntable to match the level of the rest of the system, so that will be my next target ..

I love listening to Tiesto's tracks, but there is such bass that they sound terrible in a cheap audio system. Not so long ago, I bought myself a Pioneer floorstanding speaker - here I appreciated the difference between cheap speakers.
