Mr. Randall Klein. Yello Belly does exist. I think it's a heads up outlaw track which is good, always better on track then street tho living in metro area I've raced at some famous street spots.
I've been to 12 tracks, raced at 5 . Has anyone raced at Williamson New York. Was Apple Valley when I visited. 3 dollars to watch or race. got there to late with my daily driver 71 GTO to race so watched in I think 1992. 2/10 mile side of an oval w a big dip in left lane in the 60 ft.. go between what appears 2 tight walls at the finish. I hope to race Empire Dragway finally to race in front of and for my family. Took them to spectate 1990-2001 IHRA Empire Nats every year, even in the rain, lol. In 2001 stuck around after w 1 of my neices to walk the starting line. Met Mr. Bill Bader on starting line after the race and he took the hat off his head and gave it to her. It was very hot out and he escorted us to a table w food, fruit etc. and let us each eat a lil meal. That man was one class act. Neice still has the hat,and I have the pics, she's in college for engineering now. James Perrone. hope to see you at Riverhead 100 ft. drags, we still need a track. Chris. |

I can not even remember some of the names of some of the tracks I have raced at and been to since 1961.
first track (13 years old) Suffletown Dragway then: Hudson Shadyside Concord Union County Holly Ridge Easy Street Broadslab Fayetteville (Air Strip) Fayetteville Cumberland County Sanford Piedmont 1 Piedmont 2 Dunn Benson Mooresville Farmington Z-Max Rockingham Wadesboro Red Springs Northeast and these are the ones I can remember in North Carolina. Need to call an old friend in Indian Trail, NC and get him to refresh my memory on some of the tracks down near the South Carolina/North Carolina State Line. Suffolk Emporia Richmond Din Widdie Elk Creek Damascus (sp) Capitol Raceway York Englishtown Darlington Greer Gainsville Amarilla Bristol Indy (want to do this one more time before I leave this world) I am going to stop here know this would take too long. |

I sure wanted to race there at Ontario, but I was a Denver resident when the track closed, and I've sadly only lived remotely close to there (Phoenix), since '07...long after it's demise in favor of developers.

My list is up to 27 tracks... I will mention some that I have not seen here yet or maybe I just missed them... In Florida: Lakeland, Central Florida Racing Complex, Powerhouse Raceway in Panama City... In Alabama: Cottonwood and Montgomery.. In North Carolina: East Bend, Wilkesboro and can't remember if this was AHRA or ??? But we raced down pit road at the Charlotte speedway... This had to be early 70's.. In SC: I don't remember seeing Darlington... Plus a lot that others have already mentioned....

Charlotte was IHRA for both National Events and weekly stuff in the '70s, Mack. Prior to that, it held no sanction but still ran many races.

Mack, you are correct. Do you know there are people who will argue till you can't stand it no more that they never raced at "Charlotte Motor Speedway", Lowes Motor Speedway. Some who have heard of Concord think you are are always confused when you say you raced on pit road of the Motor Speedway. There was a serious bad accident there one time, can't remember who it was but they didn't make the left turn at the end of pit road where we raced.
