Default Superstock Olds 307

Thinking about going SS with my 307 stocker. What intake would be best?
Thanks,

Didn't Bob Dennis run that combo in SS?

That is an OK combination , which we used to run with a 200 THM . We had problems getting a good rocker system , and there was not many choices for a good intake manifold . Talk to Gregg out at Tri City Competition , he did the heads .

We've run worked street dominators along with Super Victors and even have a really nice Hogan one that we've tried. They've all worked well and have there place depending on camshaft profile, heads and what kind of RPM you were running. As for rockers we've had very few issues in 20 years of running the combo. We've run Harland Sharps and also T&D's. We've had a lot of success with the combination. I sold my car here 2 years ago and it was a 1.30 under player when we wanted it to be. My father still has his car and it doesn't have all the updates that mine had but still a solid 1.00 under car when it's needed. It's still a solid Super stock combination that can run well and be fairly maintenance free.

I think you bought our old Cutlass from Mike D . Goes to show if you stay with something for awhile , you can solve most of the problems, and make it run great !

We've had 3 of them actually still have 2. Mine was the Silveus and Matt Alvey car. Dad's one was Terry Pearson's blue and silver car. The last one we got I believe was Mike D's car at one time? Jay Roth out of Kansas ran it for a while. We have only run that car a couple times as a bracket car.

That car was an original 1983 Hurst/Olds that was used as a test car , until it became a Race Car .

Holley Street Dominator works the best for the budget.
Edelbrock Victor requires some work.

SS3011 I still have three or four of those old style Kevlar lock-up converter you guys did for Mike. I planned on putting them in some street stuff, but never got around to it and now too old to care. We were told it was Mike's car too, but have no proof.

SSDiv6 Yea, the Holley is the simplest to work with by far. At least you don't have to reconfigure everything on the car to make it fast as you do with the Victor. "Some work" would be a huge understatement. We made two for the Superstock cars and a third for a blow-thru Turbo 380 Olds. In good air, the bigger Victor would ET better with HUGE mph, and in average air, the smaller runner version would run right with it with less mph, but a slightly smaller cam too, so not a true comparison. The turbo thing apparently didn't need much more than a couple of tweeks. Jerry

Hard to verify since the VIN number was removed . Was a black car , no T-Tops , Cloth maroon seats . Mike bent the top of the steering wheel trying to get the car to wheelie off the line . LOL He did sell it to Jay . When we had it in Stock , we ran a 200-4R and used a 5.57 gear in the original 8.5" rearend .
