Cool Re: Toyota Prius tech in Los Angeles area needed

How are the pads and rotors and the rear brakes? Has the Brake warning light stayed off since you had it looked at? Lots of newer cars are set up that the brake warning light comes on if the wheel sensors signal the car's computer to turn on the Brake warning light if pad replacement is necessary if wear gets to the point where it activated the sensor. We had dozens and dozens if not a hundred or more Priuses in the LA City vehicle fleet when I worked for the City and we put brakes on them as needed, but a hybrid car seemed to not need brakes near as often as a conventional car. Check the brakes, replace as necessary, reset if the light is on, see if that fixes it. Resetting the brakes according to the manufacturer's instructions necessitates a SCAN tool to reset the vehicle computer, but one thing you can do instead is to take the car for a road test after replacing the brakes and making a good complete panic stop from about 35 MPH to activate the ABS system.Sometimes that resets the system and pedal firmness and ABS function resets itself after it has been activated through the panic stop. Might save you some time and cash.
