Coolest race of the year in stock!
I liked this first round matchup at the D3 race in Michigan this past weekend:
Richard Rodgers, Dearborn Heights MI, in a 2010 Cobra Jet AA/SA qualified number 5 with a 9.800 on the 10.60 index versus the number 35 qualifier Jack Larsen, Cropsey IL, in a 1972 Comet V/S (that's right, a six-cylinder stick car) with a 14.789 on the 15.25 index. Rodgers won with a 171 light and ran a 9.906 on a 9.80 dial in. Does anyone know what Larsen did? In any event, what's your opinion? If your say Wenzel versus Rampy at Norwalk, that's OK too |

Re: Coolest race of the year in stock!
1st round Division race at Lebanon Valley, July 4, 2010.
Jim Boudreau B/SA vs Joe DeMarzo H/SA and his new driver. Jim dials 10.37 and DeMarzo's guy dials 11.48, Jim has a .010 light to Joe's guy who goes .011 Jim goes 10.368 breaking out to DeMarzo's guys 11.480. One hell of a race and both were flat out, b*lls to wall and no brakes. Lady luck won that round.

Re: Coolest race of the year in stock!
So the Mustangs are 1-1 against 6-cylinders. Let's hope Mark Y gets to run one of those with his Mustang-hey it would be Mustang versus Mustang and blower (ok turbo) versus blower, but 4 versus 8. That would be cool too!

Re: Coolest race of the year in stock!
Larsen was way off the dial for some reason, ran like a 15.53...

Great thread Dave, I agree with you on your race, but I chose Ed's because he did win. I kinda like the "underdog" (the name on Jack's car).
