Ron, to the best of my knowledge, Don is fine. He wasn't at the D1 race at Maple Grove last month, but while I was there I spoke to his engine builder Jim D' Amore and nothing negative was mentioned.

They had an oiling issue with the new engine. Should be ready for NMCA Norwalk & Indy.

Thanks Jody, at Norwalk Chris Holbrook mentioned that they may have encountered an issue with the new engine.

Almost everything nowadays trips with the nose, pro stock, factory showdown, super classes, etc. Stock/Super Stock will if you brake at the right time. Ever look at the Funny Cars when they show the slo-mo down track? The bodies actually scrape the ground. Finish line beams are higher than start line beams.

Thanks for the added info. I wasn't trying to imply anything, but as we all get older health is of prime concern. Things can change quickly as you age. I believe Don is in his eighties, if wrong I'm sorry.

Also, Don is a very busy guy. I loved seeing some his cars at auction recently.

Don is in his eighties. I'm 72 and I hope that I am as active as Don when I reach his age.

The Have's are widing the gap from the have not's! Unless NHRA can figure out how to pull in the reins which I don't believe they have the technologies to police this!

This is true; the bogus speed would only occur if the speed trap was tripped with the wheel and the finish line was tripped with the nose.

At those speeds, a difference of about 21.5" would change the reading 5 mph if I'm doing my math correctly.

FSS has become what Pro Stock was in 1975.
