Generac 75 d model 4270

Ii have a generac 75D model 4270-2 gen set in my 2005 motorhome it went out at the sports nats after hrs of testing the unit in the motorhome we pulled out and found the stator winding burnt I have ordered new stator, rotor and belts. sadly the stator is on backorder until sept 4th, so bowling green , indy is going to fun. my trailer has a small 4.5 kw gas unit so we will be okay for the race car stuff but motorhome operation operation is going to be a trick. however my question is once the new stator,rotor are installed and the unit reassembled can I check/test/adjust ac output on the bench (only testing unloaded output) or do I reinstall the unit and test at the outlets in the coach? the manual says I have a pot in the regulater to do this but which way should I do this or do I need to take It to someone that has the load test center to do this
