These look good and definitely weight savings. How long is the charge time on these? Are they ok with alternators due to the fact that they require lithium ion chargers? Also, has anyone else heard of fires stemming from lithium ion batteries? I know a pro stock team had one a few years back.

Bobby ,No problems with running with the alternator according to the manufacturer ,and I have seen none on the cars that I know are running them.
They should be charged between runs with the correct charger.
I have not heard of anyone having problems with these particular batteries, however ,I recommend that they be completely disconnected for storage and transportation between races.
