As a 19 year old, most would think my musical taste would be full of music from today, but to be brutally honest, I can't stand most of what comes out in the music industry today. It's actually a lot more common than one would think. Many of my peers feel the same way. Anyway, for my first post on this thread, I'm going to choose a new(er) song, from an old name in the industry. I've always been an avid ELO listener, and only noticed some more recent albums (2015 and newer) just recently with the titles "Jeff Lynne's ELO." This song is from 2015, called "When I was a Boy." Hope someone gets a kick out of it.

I don't think I touched on this yet, but the Beatles were big fans of American Country music, besides Carl Perkins type Rock-a-billy.

Ringo's Act Naturally was a straight ahead copy of a Buck Owens song.

Still more...

I've got every reason on earth to be mad
'Cause I just lost the only girl I had
If I could get my way
I'd get myself locked up today
But I can't, so I'll cry instead.

I've got a chip on my shoulder that's bigger that my feet
I can't talk to people that I meet
If I could see you now
I'd try to make you sad somehow
But I can't, so I'll cry instead.

Don't want to cry when there's people there
I get shy when they start to stare
I'm gonna hide myself away
But I'll come back again someday
And when I do you'd better hide all the girls
I'm gonna break their hearts all round the world
Yes, I'm gonna break them in two
And show you what your lovin' man can do
Until then I'll cry instead. (2x).
