Default Reaction time

I have never raced off of a .400 pro tree before, but will be next year. My reaction seems to be about .250" on a practice tree, my car will 60 ft. around 1.30, and has 28" inch front tires right now. I am allowed to deep stage in the class I will be running, doing that with my current combo, can I cut a decent light with my setup? - if not, will a 26" front tire get me there?
I can put in a trans brake if I need to, but would rather not because of the expense. Thoughts?

Thanks
