My first go around with cp wasn't the best. I had to purchase a couple more pistons. This time I called Darin at Patterson and tht is one good dude. It's been 8 days and pistons are being shipped.

Darin is top notch. I have purchased all of my pistons and rings through him at Patterson. Great guy to deal with.

Phil,
Did you find piston/valve clearance problem? In picture you sent me it looked like you had some intake and some ex but not all of either hitting with it being somewhat random I would look at valves see if all same thickness and setting same depth,if they are the same probaly getting valve float with it being kind of random springs may not be set up evenly and have some with less pressure, all that is ok double check actual clearance piston to valve clearance.
I know valve broke had head popped off of stem that alot of times is sign of valve float, hitting piston did'nt help head stay on valve, but float will pop off heads of valves stretch and burr keeper grooves, can leave X or * asterick pattern on tip off valve where roller on rocker is beating on it,and timing chain stretched ,valve guides wollared out prematurely are all symptons of valve float.

Mike all the intake valves was hitting. I haven't taken it apart yet. Well short block anyway. I did find a couple sets of 416 cores so I got them parts. At least it isn't to bad I guess. Something's shouldn't be rushed! It isn't the first or last I am sure.

I thought I saw ex had hit on 5 or 7 in picture, it's hard to get them together quick first time, after everything fits and misses # pushrods, rockers etc. can go together fast after all that
