heim ends are the only way to go also make up a piece of tubing to go from the Z bar to the fork and put left and right hand threads so you can use helms along with lock nuts--- makes adjusting so much easier PLUS no way that its going to fall out of the assembly---FED 387

Hey Everyone,
Been a bit! I thought we were turning a corner but the short block had its barriers as well. Total seal sent us the wrong rings and it was month before we turned them around. Add in the offseason maintenance on the super street ride and the malibu's progress really slowed. However, we have the shortblock now assembled. What is everyone's thoughts here? There is not much threads for the head bolts. Should we go with studs?

Pretty sure no studs on a stocker.

Was the block honed with a torque plate and bolts or studs?

Studs have a different clamping force than bolts. That is why they are used under higher cylinder pressures. Also they will cause cylinder roundness issues if they weren't used to hone it. A bracket motor you may never see the difference, a stocker motor on the other hand you.....
